Btw, aside from the Baja mode, what other modes are available?

I haven't tried the various modes yet, but I'm copying and pasting here the six driving modes (from fordauthority.com):

    Driving Modes

The 2019 Ranger Raptor features six driving modes, enabling the driver to select a mode for nearly any situation:

    On-Road Modes

Normal mode – emphasizes comfort, fuel economy and driveability
Sport mode – delivers responsiveness for spirited on-road driving, including fast, crisp gear shifts at higher engine speeds to aid throttle response. The mapping reacts to increased demand inputs from the driver by holding gears longer and downshifting more aggressively.

    Off-Road Modes

Grass/Gravel/Snow mode – designed to inspire safe and confident driving on off-road slippery and uneven surfaces, accomplished through smoother gear shifts and second-gear starts, minimizing the probability of wheel slip.
Mud/Sand mode – tunes vehicle responsiveness for optimum traction and momentum in deep, deformable surfaces like loose sand and mud, accomplished by maintaining lower gears with high torque.
Rock mode – used specifically for low-speed rocky terrain where smooth controllability is key.
Baja mode – vehicle responsiveness is tuned for high-speed off-road performance, just like drivers need in the famous Baja Desert Rally. In this mode, vehicle intervention systems like Traction Control are pared back to allow spirited off-road driving, thereby preventing the driver from fighting with the vehicle’s on-board systems. Gear selection is optimized for maximum performance, and the mapping will hold gears longer and downshift more aggressively.

Thank you for the inputs! Points taken. Also, I think the raptor will hold its value more in the long run.

I'm planning to go to ford this oct to reserve the raptor. [emoji16] Ang tanong nalang, pang ilan na kaya ako sa pila. Heheheh

Keep us posted with your updates with your raptor.

    Thanks!

Great choice, good luck sa pila! Sana Ford will keep the introductory price for as long as possible. The deteriorating forex rate and the fact that Raptors are selling as fast as they can ship them in are probably putting a lot of pressure on the introductory price of PHP 1.898M.

Meantime, here's how my car cover looks - it's good for a Wildtrak or a Hilux, but about a foot short on my Raptor. Bitin din yung height by a few inches because of the wider body, while the tie belt that's used to secure the cover is also way too short. I just folded it such that the cabin and hood are fully covered, as these are the sections which are tough to clean.

The Raptor is in a covered garage, but I stay in a very dusty environment. Just two hours after washing, the accumulated dust is very visible on the black paint, hence the need for a car cover.

Mga sir's ask ko lang how is your experience in owning a Ford?

If ever, this will be my first Ford. All the cars i have owned before and now are all japanese.

The stories i have heard kase about ford are not so positive.Even my collegues are warning me in buying a ford.

Whether its the availability of spare parts or the cars reliability. Japanese cars daw are more realiable and in tuned with the Philippine roads and environment.

Thanks. Not too bad then. Any particular complaints we should be aware of?

Though I owned an F150 Lariat Flareside 4x4 and a Trekker in the early 2000s, my only other recent Ford vehicle (aside from the Raptor) is an EcoSport Trend AT 2017 (Black Edition). I've no complaints so far as regards performance of the Ecosport.

I've had some not too pleasant experience with PMS in one provincial dealer - slow service, the oil was taken from a drum and placed in a used oil container before being poured into the engine (I had no way of ascertaining the oil brand and type, as well as the cleanliness of the container), and the staff are not very friendly. My preferred PMS dealer now is Ford Alabang - quick professional service and very friendly staff.

I also appreciate the fact that newer Ford vehicles are subject to PMS only every 10T km, or 6 months, whichever comes first. The customary first 1T km is no longer done (a very inconvenient servicing schedule, as 1,000 km is very quick to eat up with the excitement that comes with a new vehicle). Recently, I understand that Ford Philippines has improved their pricing on parts and service to be more competitive. The PMS schedule and pricing for the Raptor is not yet posted online, but here's a link to that of the Ranger 2.2 4x4 AT so you can have an idea of the cost range. Maintenance cost per year, IME, is competitive with that of my Montero 4x4 MT 2013 (which is recommended to be serviced every 5T km).

I'd not worry about the edge of Japanese tech vs. American tech - the Raptor is built in Thailand, like many other Japanese vehicles too. The Raptor was rigorously tested in very trying environments during the design stage, hence I expect its critical parts to last even longer when used in a less demanding manner. IMHO, parts availability and cost are proportional to the size of the model's population in a certain locality - basic supply and demand economics. The larger the population of the model is, the easier to get parts and the cheaper the cost. With the way the Raptor is flying off the shelf (er.... showroom), I expect it to have a sizable population in the country in a few months.

    good day to all.

plano kong bumili ng ford raptor, kaso may mga kaibigan at kakilala akong dinidiscourage akong mag ford dahil sa:

    1. mahal daw ang PMS ng ford;
    2. mahal daw ang pyesa at mahirap hanapin;
    3. panget daw customer relation ng ford.

pa advise naman po mga sirs sa issue na eto lalo na po sa mga matagal ng may ford na pick up.

plano ko kasing ibenta ung hilux g 2016 ko para bili ako ng ford raptor.

    thank you.

If you are living in major cities, wala na problem parts and service ng Ford. Sa province medyo kunti pa casa so may mga parts na mahirap pa hanapin. Kahit may online kasi hindi lahat available, minsan order basis pa rin at mas matagal talaga sa provinces. Service naman comparable na with japanese brands.

You are allowed legally to travel through public roads only on the same day you purchased the vehicle, and only from the dealership to your address as appearing in the purchase documents (DR and invoice).

A few years ago, one is actually allowed to use in public roads a new vehicle (which is in the processes of registration) for 7 days from date of purchase. Of course, we Pinoys are very wise, and it became common practice for dealers to issue several copies of delivery receipts with each one dated 7 days after the other. You just use a "fresh" DR until your OR/CR is issued.

Now, when you purchase a new vehicle, you're required by the dealer to sign a waiver/undertaking that you won't use the said car in public roads sans OR/CR.

If you drive through public roads the day after you bought the new car and before the OR/CR is issued, you run the following risks:

    1. Apprehension/ticketing by the LTO; or worse...
    2. If you are involved in an accident, it will be your fault automatically, and your insurer may not pay for the damages to life and property (since you're driving the car illegally).

Meantime, my sales agent called last night bearing some good news - my OR/CR is expected to be issued on October 16th, or exactly 14 days from date of purchase. The days of my Raptor as a garage warmer are numbered.

Uh oh, my OR/CR wasn't released last week as expected, this prolongs the agony of not being able to drive my Raptor through public roads. According to my agent, the LTO changed its payment scheme and that delayed the process. I hope it gets out next week - the wait for the OR/CR is turning out to be even worse than the wild chase for a unit ahead of the long lines.
