Ford PH to launch EcoSport mini-SUV on January 30

Ford Group Philippines will launch its B-segment SUV contender, the sharply-penned EcoSport on January 30. Previously shown at the New Delhi and Bangkok Motor Shows, the new EcoSport is based on the well-regarded Fiesta platform.

The new car is expected to carry a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 107hp. Ford says that it will be spacious for five adults and their gear, and that it will feature high driving position, rugged capability and superior fuel economy. It can wade through 550mm of water, making it similar in this respect to vehicles such as the Innova and Fortuner. Top line models may feature keyless entry via transponder, Ford Sync entertainment system, and hill-launch assist.

Bat, ganun 107hp lang? diba 120+hp ung sa Fiesta? Dapat similarly priced sa Jimny to. Katapat niya un eh minus the better off-road capabilities of the Zuk.

Malamang nasa gitna ng Fiesta at Escape ang price nyan. So probably Php 850k starting. Pag 1M+, malabo mabenta yan, Montero na lang kung ganun, konti difference lang.

It will definitely be cheaper than a 2.0V Altis. Estimate would be 80-100T above price of Ford Fiesta.

Saw the EcoSport in person kanina sa ATC. Speechless ako. It's really better to see one in person. Masculine stance. For me, mas pogi ang dating ng Trend. The Titanium looks cool with the sunroof btw...

Nice. I didn't know even the EcoSport Trend had LED strips on the headlights, I initially thought it was only for the Titanium trim.

That's Mars Red (red-orange).

Candy Red is the same red used by the Ford Focus Mk3.
