brakes issues = tucson accent elantra
    turbo =accent and tucson
    weird sound

    and many more issues

irrelevant for now(for me only) why? not on the list of my choice ever.

but as i always say hyundai and kia are good brands, it's the local distributor that is the problem as compared to other distributors. the only bad brands for me are the chinese brands regardless even if they are re branded japanese or bought the japanese tech.

a nail made from china will always be a bust than from those made in japan or elsewhere. why? lax strict enforcement of the law or lacking proper law- hence kahit sabihin mo na base on cummins yan eh kung gawang china pa din eh huwag na

EXCEPTION- when proper international standards are applied, like the iphone or japanese brands with quality control check on chinese plant(sa watch japan movement cased in china)

Truth is, there is no perfect car. You buy this and there will be issues. There is no panacea for all these issues.. That is why having a great forum like tsikot is a good source of information if only vehicle owners would share their experiences on how to cope with those problem.

This Ranger is actually my nearest candidate for my ageing 6yo Navara. That is why i'm interested hearing the owners how they fixed the problem, remedies and upgrades to enhance reliability. As a Navara owner, i'd say i've been thru some issues also all of which(known issues) were sorted out, or atleast if i will be confronted with problems, i dont have to guess so much and i know how to fix it.

For the ranger issues, im more interested on hearing owners stories how they fixed the car(other than casa used to do), what caused the problem, and how to solve it(other than replacing the defective part or the entire vehicle). If the turbo bearings are failing, how would changing oil grade and installing turbo timer help, or sort of mods like that?.. Anyone?

So if its not oil coking, there could be only 4more left - insufficient oil pressure, wrong oil grade, wrong VGT mapping forcing turbo to spin or surge beyond limits, and design flaw of the turbo. What is the part number of the Garett turbo? Maybe crossing the GTVxxxx part number should show what other makes use this turbo family and how often they fail..

That's the risk of having to be the first ones to own it. It's a good thing that the first owners are willing to share their experiences. Tama ganito din yung D4D dati. Ang tanong na lang eh kailan at ano ang gagawin ng Ford PH to resolve this.

Kasama na sa R And D nila yan. Yan yung last phase, real world application.

Been using my XLT Auto for 2 years loading it up to 80% of payload capacity, I usually travel south up to Bicol with that load. I tried to drive it hard even before it reached 1,000 kms using the 3 modes of the tranny (auto-sport-manual to use engine brake then back to auto only to shift back to sport mode for WOT overtaking) most of the time i drive it this way para malaman kung may lalabas na problem as early as possible. I also tested the suspension by intentionally driving fast on the rough roads going to Bicol mas masarap kasi ride kaysa mabagal na takbo sa mga lubak and braking hard on road gaps (due to never ending road repairs) to test the ABS but so far so good After 30K+ kms it still drives like new...this is the first time natuwa ako sa salitang WALANG PAGBABAGO

The trouble is I cannot take off at the back of my mind that there is this turbo issue and might also happen on my rig. But at the moment, im enjoying my xlt! And yeah, I like driving it hard!

I just drive mine hard whenever I can so that any turbo issues can come out before the 3-year warranty expires.
