Btw, does the XLT variant comes rustproofed already when released from the factory?

All vehicles are factory rustproofed. There is a misconception between rustproofing and undercoating, the latter being an added rustproofing service. I don't think undercoating is necessary tho.

Good evening fellow rangers! Magtatanong lang po sana ko... Sinuong ko po sa baha na lampas gulong ang aking black ranger XLT sa Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur last Aug. 18.. OK naman po. Hindi naman pinasok ng tubig yung loob. Pero yesterday, may CLUNKING sound po ako na naririnig when you released the clutch suddenly. Can't remember if this sound was there already when I got the unit. Kahapon lang yata ako nagrelease kasi ng clutch na biglaan. This is how I was able to produced the clunking sound on the transmission...
    1. Press clutch..
    2. Put gear on any gear (1.2.3.4.5.6 including reverse)
    3. Put gear back to neutral.
    4. Release clutch suddenly.
    and there's the clunking sound...

I went to Ford Ilocos immediately. Technician lifted my ranger... we found out that the sound was coming from the tranny.. they didn't know what it was so they called up Ford Dagupan. After few minutes they came back and said it was NORMAL.... Please confirm mga masters

I also have a moisture build up on my Left Headlight... The head tech in Ford said I observe it first if it dries when headlight is on... I went to Balaoan, La Union last night used the headlight and came back to Laoag this morning and the moist is still there... Ford Ilocos said it's WARRANTABLE... Going back to casa tomorrow again to complain about this...

Going back on the the clunking sound, it does not come out when you slowly release the clutch. Fortunately the ranger was normal on my roundtrip to La Union and laoag, Shifting was normal and it ran really well with an average speed of 100-120 km/h on long highways, dami lang lubak ulit. My average Fuel Consumption was 12.3 km/L on actual computation. That's 30.6 Liters of Nitro Diesel on 378 km round trip. Computer gave me and 7.4L/100 km consumption on my panel.

Normal lang na kalawangin yan. Surface rust lang yan and will not eat thru. Ang factory rustproofing is a dipping method na kasama sa pagbuo ng sasakyan. Mapapansin mo pag nabangga or na scrape to metal ang sasakyan mo, kakalawangin lang yung na scrape pero hindi kakalat. No need to worry

So sir tama po sila na normal lang? kasi old school yata yung tech nila.. sabi release bearing e di ba hydraulic clutch system na yata ford ranger natin.. . Ford Dagupan ang nagsabi na normal lang daw yung clunking sound on quick release of clutch. btw, humina po pala yung sound when i reached balaoan last night.. but the sound was there again this morning... pero shifting and everything was normal naman so far...

Sir Djerms clarification lang po..by shaft x joints you mean the shifting joints?

May sound din na ganyan sakin kapag mabilis nirelease yung clutch sir. Kahit hindi na ilagay sa gear basta sudden realease ng clutch nagkakaganyan talaga.

Hope this helps... after browsing i found this on other forums about :
"the drivetrain has a distinct knock when releasing the clutch"

"I drive one of the manual 2.2 Fords at work and had the same problem with the knock on the gearbox.. Originally it was said its the links on the gearstick that causes the gear to not fully engage until you apply some torque then it pops in. Then it was a story about the thrust bearing. Eventually the real thing came out and changing drive style fixed it. The clutch has some mechanism to prevent stalling so make sure you fully, as in take your foot of the clutch completely before applying gas. This is a excellent feature once you get used to it." - WillysCJ

"Your Clutch issue is not a clutch issue but a feature. Release the throttle when changing gears. It matches rpm to ensure smooth shift. If you also give throttle engine speed does not match and it jerks and knocks."

Thanks sa mga nagreply, at least may peace of mind na ko when I go to the casa tomorrow.

Can confirm all Rangers are factory rustproofed. I got it even in writing from my dealership, when I bought my car. So they cant back it off.

Bobo yang ahente mo sir. Pardon for the language. Binebentahan ka lag niyan ng undercoat. If you really want one just get from outside. Baboy din gumawa ng undercoat sa casa. Uulitin ko. Factory rustproofed ang lahat ng mga sasakyan. Pwede sir pakisabi sa ahente na yan bago siya magsalita wag aanga anga. Hehe.

Undercoat sometimes do more harm than good by retaining moisure. Ive had undercoated cars and had some with none. Walang difference hehe.
