The D.I. is really something that reflects greed on the part of the dealers... I remember during the time the montero was also in demand that the line was so long to get a unit, but the dealership did not ask for any D.I. We even purchased ours thru bank P.O.
So what's with this D.I. that ford dealerships are asking? Does FCP know this scheme and tolerate it?
Kasi parang wala silang kakompetensya... i would not be surprised that many of their prospective buyers (including me) will opt not to buy the ranger because of this freaking scheme...
Medyo madami na akong nakikitang Rangers on the road lately as compared to the Colorado. Ung BT-50 wala pa. Ang ganda talaga ng Ranger, sobrang macho. My eyes get glued whenever I see one.hehe Sana lumabas na din ung all new Everest.
I hope FCP would read this article.. Even toyota and mitsu didnt practice this stupid scheme!
Ahh ok man I'm sorryBut any company will take the best deal possible if may shortage of supply because they know there will always be people willing to shell out more. Maraming mayaman sa Pinas haha
They know because I complained last June. It is that stupid high D.I. scheme that made us not buy the Explorer for the mean time. FGP knows but is not doing anything. The only they said to me is that they sell their vehicles wholesale to all their dealers, and the dealers will make their own policy when it comes to selling the vehicle to a client.
There are more Rangers on the road than the Colorado because it's the only new pickup truck that has a 4x2 A/T that is priced at 1.1M pesos, which city dwellers really like. The Colorado on the other hand only has a 4x2 M/T variant and is a few thousand pesos more expensive than the Ranger 4x2 A/T variant. Most of the Colorado buyers are from the provinces and buy the 4x4 A/T and M/T variants.
mga sir everybody did the DI thing toyota, mitsu, hell even hyundai.. its just a way for dealers and agents to earn extra cash because they know that they have a hot in demand item with limited stocks everybody wants to have. i.e. in 2006 the fort some even took the bait of +250k just to get in front of the line, with mitsu their monty they charged up to 5% DI when stocks are low, with hyundai with the tucson they dont take anything lower than 3% DI, and with ford with the ranger last month it was 2% DI but now its 5% DI and also when they released the explorer they were asking up to 10% DI and in some point the buyers are paying the DI up front to the dealer.. people will do anything to buy and get the vehicles that they want. and the dealers knows this and sasamantalahin nila un.
really? toyota did this DI thing when they first realeased the fotuner. ayaw ng cash at puro inhouse financing nilang back then. parang mas ok pa ang DI kesa sa mga rates ng financing nila nun. try to browse old thread.
btw, DI is common sa lahat ng bank PO. dun kumikita dealers. kahit ordinary na di mabili kotse e me DI pag kumuha ka thru financing. normal nga lang is .5 to 1%.
My apologies again but when i bought my fortuner and monty, wala ako na encounter na "D.I.". Not dance instructor ha. Hehehe![]()
sir actually the rule is that the buyer must not know about the DI.. there are dealers out that tries to hide it. kasi they know it will put them in bad light.. especially with in house financing they usually charge 5% di no matter what unit you get and will not tell you this.
Sakanila na lang yang mga ranger nila wag na nila ibenta kung ganian. Sana kasi walang magpaloko sa mga ganiang pakulo nila, para bumagsak ang sales nila at nang tumino sila.

That's also my thought.... Di ba the reason that you pay a reservation fee is to get in line with the rest of the buyers who want one but stocks are not available? Then why is it happening that those who agree with the high D.I. gets one even if there is a queue? Isn't that unfair and inequitable?
Sana nagpabid na lang sila...
I do understand that dealerships are free to formulate ways to increase their profits. But with this scheme, parang corruption... hehehe
