Ano naging symptoms at ilan na mileage? Manual ba or automatic? Nakakapag-worry lalo na kapag nasa long trip tapos biglang nagka-problema...
Ano nakitang problem? Umilaw rin ba yung power train warning light bago nawalan ng hatak?
If you don't know it yet, Mazda BT-50 is a clone of the Ford Ranger. It's easy to tell people to file this case and that but in reality it's such a hassle, not all of us are lawyers. Lemon law is not made to benefit consumers, 20% depreciation per year if the company decides to buy back your lemon unit.
Yes sir walter i agree with you that mazda bt50 and ford ranger shared the same platform and virtually the same components. In fact, pumila pa ako noon sa mazda but the problem is the pricing kaya i opted to buy ford ranger na much cheaper kahit my pila din at that time. Besides, aside from lemon law and as consumers, we could file a case of damages against car manufacturer or to dti for that matter.
No, no mods on the engine. The only mods were just hid projectors tapped straight to the battery and a roll top cover. The warranty was intact, hid projectors were installed with permission from my service advisor. Di nga ako maka-mod kasi nasira agad yung turbo at 5300km, dami ko pa naman sana balak gagawin.
After my 5th turbo arrived 6 month earlier ok na yung ranger ko. I'm using it almost everyday, almost mag 80k kms na in less than a year and half year. So I have 20k kms or 1year and half warranty pa (I hope wala nang problem). Hassle talaga mag claim nang warranty sa Ford either way I'm still loving the truck, still drive like new. Luckily, so far wala nang issue yung turbo after my 5th. Coolant hose was replaced (due to recall). Tire was already replaced (switch to ATs), will probably keep it for few years before selling it.
Kay motor one Banawe--- nagkakabit din Sila dun.. Look for one of the owners Timothy David Po may FB din sya..
Nandito din pala yung agente barbero, rolled into one..

Just want to share so you'll know when same thing happens to your Ranger.
Powertrain warning light turned on exactly before 50T kms sabay nag limp mode while driving along NLEX I stopped at fuel station to reset after restarting nawala warning light so I continued to drive but I noticed na naging ma-usok tailpipe while cruising at 80kph and at less than 2,000rpm so I went straight to the dealership and have it checked they found out that there's a crack on the hose after the intercooler. Just in time before expiration of warranty, they replaced the hose with no charge. According to them the cause of smoke belching is the rich air / fuel mixture due too reduced volume of air supplied by the turbo caused by the cracked hose. They also checked the turbo at walang nakitang problem, after repair nag road test kami and it drives like new again nawala rin yung usok sa tailpipe even at high speed.
Sa mga out of warranty you might want to bring an extra hose lalo na kung madalas kayo mag long drive, anyway madali lang naman palitan flat screwdriver lang needed to remove 2 clamps mahirap din kasi ma-stranded or maging worst ang sira kapag pinilit i-drive ng malayo.
