I was seriously considering this, but with the introduction of the Ecosport...I changed my mind completely. What with the Ecosport's great wading power (think about the Metro's and provinces' baha), SUV-like stance and clearance (all the potholes and uneven roads), urban maneuverability (city parking and traffic, heck even in provinces), and that price (less than a million)! Ranger vs Ecosport--clearly, the latter is a vehicle to have and enjoy with your family and friends for many years. Indeed a best buy!
It depends on what you're looking for bro.
For me, the Ecosport looks nowhere as good as a Ranger.
It also does not have the same tough underchassis as the Ranger. That Fiesta-based suspension will wear out much quicker on poor roads than the Ranger's truck wishbones and leaf springs.
The Ecosport also does not have the same power and torque that the Ranger has. I doubt the 1.5 Fiesta engine can outgrunt the 2.2L turbodiesel of the Ranger.
True, the Ecosport is easier to drive and is cheaper to buy, but it's not a runaway winner compared to the Ranger.

Does the ford ranger 2.2 engine have any connection with the BD2200 of the old mazda pickup?
125 hp due to the lack of VGT.
Probably cheaper to repair, at the expense of a more potent engine. I would assume that the loss is more on overtaking power and top-end grunt.
For hauling purposes though, I think the Ranger XL can handle it even with 25 less horsepower than the XLT.

Hi Friends, after rejecting so many offers with DI, I got my 2.2WT Manual last month from Ford QAvenue. Actually, the arrangement with the SA is 1% DI to be covered by the Bank inclusive sa 10% 24 month interest. So okay it was still within my principle. The SA even gave me the amount through text na 20% down payment P320,505.00 kasama na LTO at about P40,000 na insurance at binawas na rin P10,000 reservation ko.
First time kong pumayag ma swindle because of my orange Ford Ranger. Inggit na kasi ako sa inyo, kaya happy na rin kahit naloko.
Wow super greedy naman yang dealership na yan. And dapat wala nang D.I yan since 2.2WT/MT, when I was on the waiting list for a while last year binibigay saakin 2.2WT/MT without D.I any color pa that was last year. Oh well ganyan talaga pag excited on the new ride, dapat atleast you contest kung bakit ka nag add for insurance. Either way gratz sa new Ranger.
You'll be phasing out the 2.2 WT or will the 2.2 WT be only 4x2?
2 lang available niyong WT last month? Kaya naman pala grabe overpricing niyo. Lucky that you still have the best selling pickup even with your horrible supply.
Fortunately Toyota doesn't have a new Hilux yet, or else lalampasuhin na naman Ford like in 2005.

The Wildtrak 2.2L engine will become a 4x2. Read it again buddy.
The 2 units i mentioned was only for my team, and not for the whole dealership. And the example i made is still called "overpricing"? Ibang klase ka naman. 2% DI, bayad LTO at TPL, tapos outside insurance, masama pa ba yan?
We still lose sales to other brands due to unavailability. And that's life in the auto industry. Try to be in the shoes of the owner, pare.
I hope i was able to enlighten you on this.
Walang manloloko kung walang nagpapaloko.
Ford gets away with all these crazy schemes since everyone is equally crazy about getting a Ranger.
Demand far exceeds supply so naturally dealers will maximize profits with their few units.
Between a Colorado with a huge discount and a Ranger with a huge DI, most pickup buyers will still go for the Ranger. Ginusto nila yan, wala namang pumipilit na kumuha ng overpriced Wildtrak but people still do so

Magkakaroon na ng facelift sa 2015 ang Ranger

sa dealer ba talaga napupunta yung DI o sa ahente?

I agree that law of supply and demand is the reason why This is happening on the Ranger XLTs and Wildtraks. In a dealership point of view, mas maganda talaga ang may stocks para maka-serve sa marami. Much as dealership orders a lot, only a handful comes in. Maybe this is not the right time for some people to buy this truck. Darating din naman po yan.
We accept cash transactions naman, so there's no DI involved there. In lieu of that, maybe insurance, or accessories, is/are an option.

The DI is based on the loan amount, and not on the SRP. And this standard on a bank financing transaction. If you're getting your cars with no DI, reasons might be: 1. You have a low interest rate, or 2. The car you're getting is not that high on demand.

The DI should go to the dealer. If the sales consultant gets it, he or she is in trouble.
Just clearing things out. Happy weekend guys.
