COLOGNE, Germany — The redesigned Ford C-Max, which goes on sale in the second half of 2010, will makes its public debut later this month at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. Ford says the new C-Max is the first model off the company's revised C-segment global compact platform, which also will spawn the next-generation Ford Focus that will be unveiled in late 2010.

According to Ford, the new C-Max borrows heavily from the design of the Ford Iosis Max concept that was displayed earlier this year at the Geneva show. The new model sheds the boxy look of the current C-Max in favor of a swoopier shape that also picks up some styling cues from the Fiesta hatchback.

The 2011 C-Max will feature a new EcoBoost 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline direct-injection engine, Ford said.

Its advanced safety equipment will include a blind-spot detection system and semiautomatic parallel parking.

Inside Line says: The new C-Max looks sharp — just the thing for young families around the globe. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

    The 2012 Ford Grand C-Max

Ford engineers designed the Grand C-Max so that the second-row middle seat folds out of sight into a compartment under the adjacent seat cushion. Doing so opens up a clear passageway to the third row seating. Also, both rear seating rows fold flat to accommodate sizable cargo loads. To see it all in action, check out the video

They could have sold it here to battle it out with the Carens and Grand Livina.

The 7-seater (5+2) is a newly launched model, the previous C-MAX was only available as a 5-seater.

The new model is available in 2 versions, a short wheelbase 5-seater model (C-MAX)

    and a long wheelbase 7-seater (Grand C-MAX).

In North America only the 7-seater model will be available, it will be called "C-MAX" there instead of "Grand C-MAX".

If they will ever manufacture this MPV in Thailand, i'm guessing it will be the 7-seater model...

I doubt if its coming here, so no di sya pantapat sa Alphard. Pantapat sya in a sense that it's also a min-van, but its not as luxurious as an Alphard... Its a reasonably priced people carrier...
