To be honest the Fiesta is too small and not powerful enough to handle U.S. highways, that is why Midsized cars like the Camry, Sonata, Accord are popular though they handle quite as good as the Fiesta, I'm hoping the new Focus mixes great handling from the Fiesta with a little more size and power. I was also looking at the Fusion, but it really does look old and doesn't sport the Kinetic design from Ford. Surprisingly the 2012 model of the Focus will be release early 2011, while the Asian markets as always will get it "on time" for 2012.

I think the Fiesta is doing ok in the US considering its only offered with a 120hp 1.6.

The new 2012 Focus Mk3 should be good since its platform is a development of the one used by the Mk2 Focus currently sold in Europe and Asia (should have good ride and handling).
The 2012 Focus SE Manual with the "SE sports package" looks interesting.

The current Fusion will probably be replaced for the 2013MY, its expected to be merged with the next Mondeo.

But I have to warn you, before you get paranoid about it:screwloose: like someone else, that the gas lid cover is not lockable.
Thanks I have read about it on the Thai website as suggested and the price difference is indeed justified between the Trend and Sport. Regarding the gas lid it would be good if Ford provided the lock but if they don't I'll just buy the lock from the US if it's still not available here, that's if and I do buy a Fiesta next year.

As for your heavy foot, baka gusto mo na maglagay ng kahoy sa ilalim ng pedal so the heavy foot can be tamed.

When I was in the US late last year, I saw a lot of Honda Fits but none of the other sub-compacts available here. With it's 1.6L engine, I suppose the Fiesta would "fit" in quite nicely.

Sa US Nissan Versa ang #1 selling sub-compact. The Fit is #3 ata... I am sure the Fiesta will challenge them bago pa lang sa market and like us here they also have supply issue over there...

Consumer Report on the US Fiesta. So far, the most objective review with both pros and cons of the US version. Take note of the rear seat space:

Yeah the rear seat space issue was already known even here, but then Amerikano yan so talagang masikip. Satin naman bearable to tight...

Jeremy Clarkson seemed to fit in just fine and he's around 6'5" I think. Best way to know is to do the sit-in test. Anyway, if this doesn't meet a person's space needs then this isn't the car for you.
