October 22nd, 2010 10:38 AM #101Teka... how about if you need to go downhill and you need to do engine braking to avoid burning your brakes (like downhill from Baguio)? kung walang manual shifter, how can you maintain it in the lower gears? Hindi ba sya magshi-shift din agad to higher gears when it reaches a certain RPM kung parang sports mode ang "L" gear nya? Hindi ba ito delikado?

When going downhill you can do a full stop before beginning your descent, para sure na start ka on 1st gear. Then when in L mode, you stay at 1st for longer. As long as you don't reach 3000-4000RPM, then it shouldn't upshift to 2nd.
Pero theoretical lang 'to ha. Actual feedback from users sana. Once ma-deliver na unit ko, i-biglang liko ko sa mga motel sa Pasig. Matarik ang mga entrada dun eh. Observe ko uphill at downhill. Teka... Unahin mo muna maniak tint... :naughty2:

October 22nd, 2010 12:20 PM #105Actually, most of the ATs I have driven I notice has this feature naman. Tinetest ko sya madalas doon sa may Canley area going to C5 kasi nga medyo steep doon and minsan sa papasok ng tagaytay highlands or caliraya. More often than not, they maintain engine brakes, but once in a while I experience the car shift to higher gears at biglang bibilis. Personally, I think it's still safer to have gear control if necessary, gusto ko parin na may control ako to shift to lower gears (in the case of the Altis, a choice of "3","2", or "L", or with the City, shift to "S" then apply the "-").
Iniisip ko rin kasi at worst case scenario kung mawalan ka ng brakes at high speed, you can downshift to lower the speed and eventually apply handbrakes when it really slows down at gear 1. Parang hindi ko maisip kung paano i-control yung kotse in such cases kung walang manual gear selection option.

Pao, ice blue is rather nice on a Ford. Ford na Ford ang kulay.
I've seen so far, the black (mica b?) ,white, sparkling gold and silver in person. Yun blue, not yet
So far, 1 for blue.
