January 21st, 2011 08:41 PM #1562guys, with all this incidents of carjacking happening everyday, I'm just wondering how good our fiesta's security features are...
First thing in my mind is the key design, it's not shaped like an ordinary key but somewhat squared... question is, how easy/hard to fabricate this type of key?
next is the immobilizer system. given that if they did manage to replicate the key itself, how tough is it to bypass the immobilizer? was there a known event that the signal from the chip in the fob key were ever cloned or hacked? or is it really possible in the first place?
lastly, is the alarm, though mine doesn't have one (1.6 trend) well isama narin natin, how do you find it? ako medyo naiilang kasi first car ko tong fiesta that didn't come with an OEM alarm.. all my cars have one. medyo sinasanay ko pa sarili ko..
your inputs?..

January 21st, 2011 08:42 PM #1563Meron alarm sound (fiesta sport, i dunno about the other variants). Horn ang gamet niya.
to test:
1. pasok ka sa car.
2. close the door
3. then use the REMOTE to lock it.
4. after a few seconds, open the LOCKED door from the INSIDE, WITHOUT unlocking the door. (since alam natin lahat that the door can still be opened inside without unlocking it)
5.alarm should be triggered.
6. disarm alam using remote using unlock button
7.next time you start the car, may message sa screen saying alarm trigerred, checking ekek something?
8. go out now and try it! =D nagulat ako the first time i triedmejo scandalous din ung noise hehehe

This happened to me by accident already.
I had just set the child locks in the rear doors to "on".
I got in the back to see if the child locks would work, then, realizing they were working as promised (couldn't open the reardoors from inside when doors locked with remote).
I had to get out of the car again.
So I reached over to the drivers door from the backseat to open that door.
Sure enough...the alarm went off as soon as the drivers door was opened, whilst I was stuck between the front and back seats
My wife came outside to see what all the noise was about...only to find me jammed between the seats with the alarm sounding.
The Fiesta really is a fun car....my wife thought it was hilarious

January 23rd, 2011 09:21 PM #1568I went to Market Market where they have a place on the top floor of the dept. store, that duplicates all keys even the remote. Well thwy said that they cannot duplicate the frequency of the ford fiesta because it uses a hoping frequency, w/c means the frequency jumps at several unique levels, w/c only the car and the key remote know the sequence, as it is unique for every car, so the signal is not just one frequency, w/c may be copied,... but several.
heres a link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frequen...pread_spectrum
so i guess its pretty safe.

It is very hard to steal our Fiesta without our consent.
Hindi standard yung audio system kaya less motivation para basagin and windows para nakawin yung stereo (I happened to my van once).
Don't keep valuables like laptop or gifts na pwede silipin ng kawatan. Keep them in the trunk.
Advice ko lang, kapag tinutukan ka ng baril o balisong, ibigay mo na agad. There in no car valuable enough to exchage for your life.
