I love Japanese food but I am not a big fan of tempura or ramen. I enjoy sushi and sashimi, teppanyaki, and saki.

Tenya Tempura now because specific for tempura yung craving ko haha. Even their mushroom tempura is good. For any other Japanese food cravings, my go-to places are Nihon Bashitei and Kikufuji.
Same here!!!
I got purga with Tempura because my Dad loves Japanese food and all I ordered as a kid was Tempura. It really annoyed my Dad
I don't like Ramen as well. Though I'm curious about Mendokoro ramenba on why it gets so many raves.

Best local Japanese restaurant for me is Tsukiji. It is just a different experience but the price is not friendly. For a quick fix near my place, I go to Niku Maru BF Homes. The food is authentic and affordable.

My pangarap to eat there. So expensive!!! My Japanese teacher says it's the best in Manila. I wanted my graduation dinner there but we ended up at our default.
Where is Niku Maru? I used to be a regular at this jap resto along el grande. One of the few places that allowed smoking inside the resto.

Yep, Tsukiji is really a good place to eat if you can spare a bit more. All the restaurants in that area (Cirkulo, Azuthai, Milky Way) are good places to eat.
Niku Maru is along Aguirre Avenue. The place is a bit hidden. We always go there if we want to eat Japanese food. There is another Japanese restaurant along Aguirre, Hanakazu, but it is more expensive than Niku Maru.
That one in El Grande is Bono Tei but it is closed already. If you like their food, they still have an open branch along Bicutan. There is another one, the cheapest, which is Tatsonoku (near the guard house) but their food is not good.

I agree that all the restos in that building are good. My family loves Milky WayI wonder when I will be able to eat at Tsukiji. I don't mind spending on food but I think it's too expensive for me.
Can you give me a landmark for Niku Maru? I'll check it out next time I go out with my friends from the South. I tried Hanakazu, nothing spectacularI've been wanting to try Bono Tei but everyone tells me it's cr*p.
Bentoya! That's my favorite resto in BF. I used to go there at least once a month. That was in the mid til late 2000s. I stopped going when I started working so I don't know how the quality is now![]()
