No more Starbucks for us, home-made coffee (decaf Figaro) na lang kami sa house.

I frequent starbucks corinthians and starbucks tiendesitas.

Amen.
Great Taste 3-in-1 ok na.
I mean, it's just coffee! I'm not exactly one of those trying-hard-to-project-an-image types. Going to Starbucks can't make me a better person, just a penniless one.

its the branding that makes SB and other established coffee shops expensive.
my wife just started her own coffee shop using batangas coffee and she sells P12/cup lang....may margin na dun.
before i used to patronize these coffee shops, pero i realized na ang mahal pala.....so i just drink nescafe here sa office, libre pa. pag weekends, dun ako sa coffee shop ni esmi.

maybe the Starbucks brand is 'pa-sosi' in the philippines, but it's not like that worldwide.
Starbucks built its brand on the experience of visiting its stores and having your coffee exactly the way you want it (or trying special/unique kinds or flavors). this is a classic case of small company becoming huge and struggling to stay true to its roots while doing so.
they just need to focus on staying close to their customer's wants and making sure that their quality of service stays consistently high. just serving great coffee is not good enough.
