To answer the thread question, no. A 330 ml can of Coke Zero contains about 1.5 calories while Coke Light has 3.3 calories. Compare this with regular Coke which has about 140 calories per 330 ml. If you are concerned about caloric intake and is weight conscious and you have to drink a cola, go for either the light or zero variant of Coke. Choosing between the two will depend on your taste preference.

I'll go with niky. Aspartame is safe.

Quote: "so whether the sugar is real or artificial, I tend to steer clear. I favor fresh fruit to get my sweet fix, and fruit ultimately leaves me feeling fuller.
Now, if you do choose to use aspartame, keep in mind moderation. The FDA recommends a daily intake of no more than 50 mg of aspartame per kilogram of body weight. That amounts to 22 cans of diet soda for a 175-pound man, and 15 cans for a 120 pound woman."

My wife told me that during college they had a topic about this and the prof said it is safe but best pa din to intake it in moderation as in the case with most foods. Better drink water pa rin daw instead of any cola or sweet RTD juices etc.

OT: BTW, I don't drink cola as long as may water sa office, haws or parties. Rice & lifestyle ang main cause of diabetic cases in the PI sabi ng doctor ko. Tama ba? Kaso malakas ako sa rice. hehehehe

My grandfather's favorite was a can of Coke and a banana. Restores both sodium and potassium. Of course, that gives you twice the sugar...

The sugars in fruit take longer to digest than what you find in soda (longer chain), but you still have to eat fruit in moderation to avoid diabetes. Rice is also a big contributor. Typically, Filipinos eat too much rice and too little in terms of vegetables.

I typically only drink one or two cans of diet soda a day. I only use it for the caffeine hit, since I don't like the taste of coffee.

Even though aspartame is safe in the amount a normal human can drink, it's not healthy to do all your hydration via soda... even diet soda... it's really best to hydrate with water or Gatorade. Gatorade is good because it restores water, electrolytes and sugars to the body, yet isn't as sweet as regular soda or juice drinks.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
