seems like quite the debate. anyway, the QSR (quick service restaurant) market is in shrinking daw. bad economy and price war signals that. diba paliit ng paliit mga offerings. research has been done that shows the new threshold is 30 pesos for things fast food. kaya may mga murang KFC burger and namimigay na ang fastfoods ng pagkain. that reflects na rin on the donut market.
amazing kasi milk used to be in the top ten considerations for the "grocery list" but now it was kicked out of it...thanks to "load." the new top thing on everyone's list
mass based in a bad economy may be difficult. better target upper end who has more propensity to spend. rather than the jollibee crowd which is cutting down.
marketers are falling into the same trap here by being very promo led. we know how price wars kill brands. plus pinoys are getting more and more price conscious. kahit sa big ticket purchases like cars diba....
just a bad economy but maybe that is why they are thinking close to christmas opening...just when people tend to spend...now people don't dahil rainy season is a poor time for sales
oh and premium products make better margins than low-end volume based products. specially if you can't sustain the volume. that's why it shouldn't be a question of whether mura or not but whether it is priced well.
anyone tasted celo's or cello's doughnut. the one in katipunan, in front of ateneo? astig din yun
but i'm looking forward to the opening of krispy kreme too. pero i read that 4th quarter of this year pa daw magbubukas. dunno how accurate that info is though
well .. good luck sa max .. deep pockets naman sila .. a couple of my friends actually thought of bringing it in before .. but with the franchise fee before of $5M (dunno how much now) .. if you do the math .. katakot takot na daming donut yung kelangan mabenta para makabawi .. hehe
