With the situation right now parang sinisira lang din ng Oracle pangalan nila...

No, if the contract was not renewed by jollibee then oracle does not have any responsibility to continue the service. Bakit masisira pangalan nila kung nagprovide naman sila ng service until the contract was terminated by the client.

Hindi ba netsuite ang gamit ng jollibee?

or should you say all "Retail" companies because IT companies doesn't have anything to do with Jabee's problem. And if I say "IT Companies" i mean real, tried-and-tested IT Companies, not just some kickstarter-startup-company-pretending-to-know-SAP.

I haven't read the whole article but I already lost interest.

    What I can say:

    Poor management and scheduling
    Terrible estimation of man-hours
No Failover plan (who the f*ck does that?)
    No risk mitigation
    Poorly executed product/data migration

Lastly, who plans a half-Bil project to be done in less than a year? Really, who does??

I've been with three Big IT companies (2 local 1 here) and i've never seen a huge project estimated for only a year. Planning, Delegation, Business meetings, Testing, Documentation, Reports and Defect Management takes a lot of time to do and the amount of time it takes for these things to be executed gracefully is multiplied by how hard/big/complicated the project would be.

Apparently, somebody just wanna go home that day.

"Pare,------ Wowwww Cubaooooooo!"

impression ko lang sir is they migrated *to* SAP; me nagsabi naman na they migrated from SAP to Oracle.

Nagtataka rin ako how this got pass the CEO/BoD; half a billion pesos, one year? So they just took the CIO's/IT firm's word for it?

Hmm, open secret naman siguro kung sino yung IT firm di ba? If they own up to it officially, then malabo sigurong cover up yan -- who'd risk their own firm's name for Jollibee? On the other hand, if they deny it...

There's a rumor going about that they source chicken from China; pero maliliit yung manok na gamit sa Chickenjoy right, and usually malalaki yung imported na manok?

Umiiwas na talaga ako sa pagkain from China ever since the melamine scandal; who the hell puts industrial chemicals in milk?!? Di lang yun, after naconfiscate yung tainted milk products, after a few years it made it back to the market.

Its the IT thing that led to shortage of chicken in the stores.

See how drastic things could be if automation system fails. Always simulate, backup, redundiate, diversify, come up with fallback plan, and most importantly don't forget the override/manual switch..

Ramkar(KFC) and Golden Arches(McDo) have similar IT infra AFAIK, hope they learned from Jabi.

KFC's SAP is stable.... And it is being maintained by their affiliate Kaisa Consulting.
But I agree with you... The failure of the IT system implementation resulting to "haka-haka....", which resulted in the increase of prices...

BusinessMirror - DA: Jollibee asking permit to import chicken

So I think they're opting to import chicken instead of doing movements in their inventory.

Ordering from overseas means they only talk to one or two big suppliers... as compared to here, where they have to shop around, talk to many different suppliers, deal with messy logistics... compete with supermarkets, drive prices up...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
