    Belgian innovation in Manila

MANILA, Philippines—Have you ever been to SM North Edsa lately and tried the latest craze in town?
Opened recently at the food court area is the Famous Belgian Waffles, a food cart that offers the original crispy and freshly baked Belgian waffles sandwich in the country.
Customers are willing to queue to wait for their turn to try and enjoy the waffle sandwich. It shows how much Filipinos appreciate and respond to new food concepts in the market.
Famous Belgian Waffles easily captured the hearts of its patrons by following a very simple principle: Delight your customers and exceed their expectations by offering them an innovative product of high quality at affordable price.
Innovention Food Asia Co., the owner and operator of Famous Belgian Waffles, developed this versatile snack and changed the way Filipinos eat freshly baked Belgian waffles.
They made it in sandwich form to make it a grab-and-go product that comes with several filings to choose from—chocolate, peanut butter, hazelnut, blueberry, cream cheese, ham and cheddar, banana chocolate and a lot more.
Innovention Food Asia Co. made it also very affordable for the mass market—the chocolate waffle sandwich, which is the bestseller of all, sells for only P35. The runaway for the adults are blue berry cream cheese, ham and cheddar, and banana hazelnut, priced at P55 only.
Barely a month old, four franchisees already signed up to open their outlets in SM Megamall, SM Fairview, SM Marikina and SM Calamba.
Karen de Guzman and Kathy Gutierrez, franchisees of the upcoming SM Megamall branch, admit they decided to franchise Famous Belgian Waffles right away because they believe the concept is going to be the next big thing in the food cart industry.
Nap Domingo of the upcoming SM Marikina branch also feels the same way. His branch is a counter type with dine-in area and will also serve coffee and other drinks.
Catherine Mackay, franchisee of SM Fairview, believes that the Belgian waffle sandwich will surely be a hit to her market in the area because of its affordability and quality.
Innovention Food Asia Co. will showcase Famous Belgian Waffles at the 11th Filipino Franchise Show on Oct. 12-14, 2012 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
