BTT: Chicken pastel at sinigang na bangus. I miss those days when my Lola was still cooking and she would regularly send food over. It was my Lola who taught me how to clean fish

    i don't know about you,
but i actually like that carbonized cooking.
    even as it's potentially carcinogenic.

i think the heat was on, too high.

Try this way of cooking tocino. It cooks the tocino even before burning it. This is how some people do it to avoid burning the meat.

I was taught to cook tocino in water first before frying/searing it in the pan to ensure that the insides are cooked before the outside burns. I do the same with hotdogs, longganisa, etc.

We do this too. Helps get rid of the excess salt as well.

but is there a difference, cooked-product-wise?

^ pag dating sa tuna grilled best practices, davao is the place to be.
