I've been eating beef stew from Pho Hoa. It comes with side of toque, a slice of lemon and few of these leaves.
I like the taste of this leaf, munch one or a couple of them then sundan mo ng sabaw ng beef stew, good combo. The leaf has strong taste. Very fragrant tasting. My wife said maybe it's mint, I asked the waiter and she said it's basil.
So I bought basil sa supermarket and when I tasted it, it's not quite the same. Maybe this is a specific type of basil iba sa nasa supermarket?

Alam ko vietnamese usually mint, basil is Thailand.
Funny thing is mahina ako sa leaf identification even if I had a basil and mint plant before.

Since we're talking about flavors, napaisip tuloy ako sa spices, I have a lot of mini clear glass bottles courtesy of the bird's nest drink gifted to me. Was thinking of using them as spice containers since ung mc cormick also comes in clear bottles. Actually ung local nga, naka clear plastic lang. although ang maccormick nasa foil pouch.
