I think ope eyes is more of a guy thing (not being ***ist here ha) - poll your girl & guy friends. You'll likely find out that most ladies close their eyes when kissing, and men have theirs open.

I don't get to talk anything remotely ***ual with my girl friends (except for one) but yeah it seems like a guy thing.

I just found it funny that "eyes closed" was a bad sign for my friend because he does not want to see the face, which is consistent with your answer (that you do it open because you are visual)
