Arroyo's husband back in the Philippines

PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's husband, Jose Miguel "Mike" Arroyo returned to the country Sunday night at 8:06 p.m. on board Philippine Airlines Flight 307 from Hong Kong.

With the First Gentleman were son Diosdado "Dato" and the latter's wife Maria Victoria and their daughter Eva Victoria.

The group left Thursday, a day after President Arroyo announced that her husband had volunteered to go abroad to help ease the political tension in the country.

Mr. Arroyo only waved and did not answer questions from reporters, who were barred from entering the airport's presidential lounge, as there was no scheduled press conference for his return.

Several airport officials led by General Manager Alfonso Cusi welcomed the First Gentleman.
