Advanced paternal age: How old is too old?

This is disturbing to me. Me and the wifey have not yet conceived and we are both 35 give or take.

If you have seen my posts then... you might have ???

So, please do not ask why, it is pretty obvious and I am not proud of it.

Currently, trying to get my hormones in control.

I don't get it. You have a kid in G11 you said?

I have a girl friend who is 35, married for almost 10 yrs. Her husband is 40. My friend had a procedure a few months ago at Medical City and now she is pregnant.

Another friend is 37 married for 3 yrs, husband is early 40s and she got pregnant this month.

But yes it's optimal to have children in your 20s. I'm constantly reminded that by my family. The older the parents get, the less the quality of sperm and egg. Higher chance din down's syndrome

34 yrs old for the egg is strict the cut off. After that chances for birth defect increase. Ask any reproductive specialist. Dont wait.

There will always be those lucky ones who get pregnant and have a normal pregnancy after 35. But ask all the doctors and they will say try before 34. It gets trickier after.

Alas, it was our families who refused to get us hitched BEFORE we finished our post grads, well it was more complicated than that of course but that is the gist of it.

Yes, I did say that i have a kid in g11.

I'm confused but at least there's still a big chance for your wife to get pregnant since it's not her first pregnancy. They say it is even harder if the first pregnancy happens in 30s. My Mom had me in her late 30s and sometimes my friends tease me that must be the reason why I am "abnormal". But seriously it makes me wonder if that could be a reason why I am very sickly.

No. It is her FIRST pregnancy.

    Re: your health

It could also be environmental, as in my case.

sometimes, the problem may already have been there, even when you folks were younger. but since you were not planning to have children yet, the problem did not manifest.
now that you have or want children, at the same time you are also much older... it is tempting to blame age.

Will be tested in Jan/Feb 2017. Poor Xmas diet and strings of sleep deprived festivities is bad as a baseline.

It could be stress. Even a relative of mine have this problem. Same age range.

My menopausal brother was conceived when my parents were 40.
