My polite answer to such a question........

With a smile, "Why do you want to know?"

I'm 76, and this has worked for me for 60 years.

    Ciao!

    Uncle Nick.

just like the girls at the club, if they are cornered into a question they'd rather not answer they say:

ang laki siguro ng bibig mo parang kay sunshine?
meron akong kaopisina na di mo dapat sinasabihan ng sikreto kasi pag magkukuwento siya lagi na lang "sabi ni ano kuwan ka daw?"
    yari ka, buko ka kagad!

ganon talaga sila. maybe 20% lang sinasabi nila ay totoo. what happened inside the club stays in the club.

I think girls are more prone to this. It's probably why 80% of my friends are men.

They don't ask questions. They just talk behind your back. If they asked questions, they would've gotten an answer and there wouldn't be gossip in the first place.

I've seen many Filipina groups here become divided because of some gossip one of them started spreading around.

Us husbands don't give a crap. But, when gossip mongering divided the wives, we can't get together for pot lucks and other activities.
