I have friends who have acne breakouts. What I don't understand is why they need to have injections and procedures because it seems to make the situation worse.

Last week my friend came to work with horrible scars on her face, she said she wanted to get rid of her pimples. Her face was okay BEFORE she went to the derma, and now I cannot look at her when we are talking because I am distracted with her face. Which got me thinking, would acne make a person very unattractive? I can't imagine kissing a face full of acne

There is a pill that inhibits the oil production on the face. It is quite expensive but very effective. In fact, one needs to use lip balm to hydrate the lips and the skin feels dry. Forgot the name but it rhymes with acnetrix or something.

Acnetrex (isotretinoin). All of the above is true. Expensive but effective, and drying.

A couple years ago I broke out (lower part of the cheeks and jaw area) and when topicals didn't work, my derma prescribed this. My face really stopped producing oil, even after an entire day outside. I needed to balance the dryness with lots of moisturizer though.

Side effects are pretty scary, good thing it works fast. I was on it three months and the acne didn't come back after the medication ended. No scarring either, buti na lang

What are the side effects? So it's possible to rarely have a pimple in your entire life then have acne bigla?

Long-term use has adverse effects on the liver. Kidney too, I think. I had to take a blood test before and shortly after starting this medication to check if certain indicators for the liver (I forgot what the chem test was called) were within acceptable levels. Also, this drug is very restricted in the US because if you get pregnant while on it, your baby will have abnormalities. My derma explained that in the US, you have to pledge to use two forms of contraception (ex.: condom for him, pill for her) simultaneously when on Acnetrex.

Yeah, it's called adult acne. Except for a couple of pimples when stressed or when nearing that time of the month, I never had any major breakouts until two years ago.

    Is she from Davao?

Anyhow, I have no problem with her face actually. It's just that, hmmmm... you know, she looks like XTO. Well, that is, before the latter turned into Mulawen.

I don't think anyone would find acne cute. Sonetimes there is pus or blood coming out of there.

perhaps your friend's face is still fresh from the procedure. give it a few weeks to heal, and then decide if it was worth it.

lahat naman ng opera scars, pangit sa umpisa dahil namamaga pa. ang husga ay pagkatapos ng ilang linggo.

*jack, enough with XTO. That's flaming already. Also, that's just a pic I got from the net. It's the closest to how my friend's skin looks.

Her face is already rough from acne in the past, but it became worst after her procedure. It's just hard to talk to her without being distracted So I am wondering, pano pa pag ***y time? hehehe

No acne, I have two scars in the face, got it when i was 5, not noticable unless you focus on it, one on the lower lip, from a mtb accident, my lower teeth made a hole, water comes out when i drank water, i came home bloodied, showed it to the wife, after a few verbal abuse, off to the ER again, a few stitches fixed it, now not noticable...btw thats just in the face, like what i said battle scars.

    Mea Culpa, Madam Cathy.✌

Anyway, the reason I asked was, I was thinking she was from Davao. It looked like, you know, a full Durian fruit fell on her face.

Maybe not as bad, but I was "exclusively dating" one for a number of years....

    Carrot juice, anyone?

The change in the hormonal balance after birth will "correct" this.... Is this true?

there are birth control pills that prevent acne. my wife takes it when she gets pimples and the results are like a miracle. tell your friend to ask her ob-gyn for advice. for starters google "birth control pill for acne". mura pa, P200 lang yata isang banig.

pag ganyan kadami in the picture medyo kailangan na ng ultraviolet light at 4 beers para mabighani ang lolo nyo.

It wouldn't bother me too much. Both my first crush in 6th grade and my ex-fiancee had freckles. Freckles isn't acne. But, it's close enough. The amount of facial freckles for both were similar to this one.

A pretty girl is a pretty girl, even with acne. I can see through the acne and imagine the girl without them. If the rest of the package is good (long legs, shapely body), then I can probably ignore the acne.

If that fails, I just take off my glasses.

It's good to know that there are still guys that are not superficial.

I just can't imagine kissing a face full of acne. I guess it's because I saw that huge pimple excreting pus + blood from my friend's face

I would still suggest that woman make changes to her lifestyle to limit acne outbreaks. Open sores can become safety issues. Hygiene, diet, exercise, medication, make-up. They should help.

I got pimples too when I was a preteen. They disappeared once I was deep into sports and outdoor recreation.

Do you still find a person with Acne/Pimples/Acne Scars attractive? Would you date one?
