I've always had the notion that the woman I date is the woman I'll end up marrying some day. Otherwise, why bother? Some characteristics I looked for:

1. She doesn't have to be book smart. But, she does have to be smart with managing money.

2. Physically, I didn't really care much whether she's dark-skinned or mestiza so long as she keeps herself presentable. My last ex-fiancee was caucasian (and was more gorgeous than pretty) while my wife used to be light-complexioned when she was younger. But, hard work under the Leyte sun darkened her skin later.

3. She must have a lot of patience. Well, putting up with me requires a lot of patience.

4. She must have the drive to work and earn a living. That was only just in case I die and she has to fend for herself.
