Sariling sikap On my end Cathy. Bit the bullet and took out a housing loan a long long time ago. I guess it worked out all okay in the end.

I rent 2 parking space in the condo thst im renting,

My other cars, the ones Im collecting are in the family ancestral home.

For me, owning a house is an unwanted expense, maintenance and repairs, property taxes and unjustifiable interest rates, the desire to buy permanent things on it, which kinda defies the purpose coz interior design and things are like Rtw too.

I bought modular furnitures so that when I transfer from condo to condo, madali i-transport and adapt.

I developed this skill na whenever i inspect a prospect condo to rent, ma-re arrange ko yun modulars ko . And also modular lamination if i want to change the mood

I have a bad record sa pagibig housing.
By any means, posible pa kya yun mabago? Tia

At age 25, nakatira lang ako sa ate ko Coming from a failed marriage, I was zero bankrupt, no work, with no educational attainment.
At age 33 meron na ko house and lot, nauna ko nabili lot then after a year nagpatayo ako ng house, Now I'm 42, medyo marami rami ng naipundar, lots, condos, cars.

at 23 i was living on my own, in an apartment own by my parents, at 28 i have my own house, around 30 my father died, what he left me i invested in commercial apartments and warehouses, when my unica reaches college, we'll just downgrade, if she wants to go to DLSU or UP, ill rent out our house then get a condo unit walking distance from that school....kahit 25-28sqm is big enough for us.

nice to hear these stories. kaya lang there are some people who are really hard to convince. my friend who has a stable job as an examiner with the BSP with his wife prefers to rent a condo rather than get their own property. told him the rent they paid the last 2 years could have paid half of a modest condo already. to think he should be the one who is good in finances, i mean he audits banks for a living , and i know he could afford it if he wanted to. guess they want to enjoy their lifestyle muna

I'm 34 and nag PAG-IBIG Housing Loan ako when I was 27 payable for 25 years.

Maybe it was an honest question. Sometimes, we assume too much without even bothering if it was just a simple straightforward question.

BTT - I noticed that this thread talks about house and lot and most people who have posted are already in their 40s.

For millennials today, most tend to go for condos in good locations rather than houses and lots. Detached H/Ls today are just too expensive in the metro. You can get a decent 2BR condo for about 5-10M in an area located either in or a few minutes away from the major CBDs.

To get a house in a similar location, you'd need at least 20M for just a townhouse which not many twenty-somethings can afford. You'd need to have enough cash for a 20% downpayment (4M) and afford a monthly amortization of 133k/month for 15 years. You'd then need a net household income of 300k/month so you can keep your loan ratio to under 50% of your income.

    well,
it takes considerably more effort and money, to purchase and maintain a house and lot.
also, there are not too many "good" buys in house and lots around.

Tama po Sir Juts, Doc.. Mostly nung nakapwesto near metro.. Ancestral home na or from mana.. Or talagang mayaman na from the start..
That time SM San Jose Del Monte is just a rumor and yung MRT project parang suntok sa buwan na magkatotoo.. IT companies near that location..
Aba.. Nagulat ako.. Wala pang 5 years nagawa na yung SM San Jose Del Monte..

If you don't mind me asking, why did you opt for land outside Manila instead of a condo nearer to your workplace?
