It depends on where you live. You'll have to find a shop that knows its stuff and carries pre-fabricated adapters.
Some shops make do with the elbow bend adapter that just clamps on with rubber and an O-ring, but, from experience, this isn't very stable, and hard bumps can knock it off. (had something like this on the old Sentra)
What you want is an adapter with a screw threaded through it into the carb, to hold it in place. There are some Simota pieces that do this:
(non-Simota)
But some shops make their own, sort of ghetto-looking versions.
You'll have to shop around to find the adaptor.

thanks for the reply sir.. ill be also installing it to my b13.. the AF i have is somewhat similar to the pic posted.. but its sort of a short intake.. it comes with a stainless elbow tube that is connected to the filter.. i think it was installed before in a ga16de engine.. were can i buy an adaptor with in the area of makati.. any suggestion sir.. tia..
Don't know the local shops... pero kung Makati ka, you can do a sweep of Evangelista (EDSA southbound, right after Magallanes, between a Jollibee and McDo right after the interchange), lots of places there, and one is bound to have the adaptor.![]()

mga bossing, meron bang simota na drop-in air filter para sa carb type, magkano kaya yun?
Meron Simota na round-type na pinapatong sa carb. I don't know if they produce casettes that fit in the stock plastic/steel filter can. K&N does, though.

i went to evangalista yesterday to look for the adaptor, they have this kind of plastic thingy were in they have to cut the buttom of the plastic so that you can insert it to your carb ang place a hole on top of it so that you can srcew it to your carb.. my question now is,will the plastic adaptor stand heat of the engine.. is there a possibility that the plastic will mealt.. and should i settle for the plastic for less hassle or should i have the adptor fabricated in a machine shop..
I haven't seen plastic adapters melt yet... I mean, some stock air filter cans (for carb type) are plastic, including on my AD Resort... and cracked pieces of the said plastic part got ingested into my engine!... but that was seven years old already.
A steel part will provide a little more security, but it's not a necessity. Just observe how soft the plastic gets after a long drive. If it doesn't, then it should last you for a good, long while.![]()

Ey, ask ko lang po, is there any shop who replicates the "Cone air filter Adaptor" that you've posted from simota? Kase i have this plastic elbow adaptor that was attached dun sa filter. Mejo ang sagwa lang kase tingnan. color yellow kase adaptor and yung rubber to the tube. nagmumuka tuloy cheap yung filter. hehehe...
or better yet baka may alam ka na autowarehouse that sells it.
thanks.

The fabricated ones I've seen are mostly "patok" steel... definitely cheaper looking than any plastic part.
You can try painting your adapter with high-temp paint... ;)

Ey niky, yung sinasbi mo ba na "patok" steel is the pic from the attached?
tagal na kase ko naghahanap ng ganong klase ng adapter.
correct me please if iam wrong, it is more prone sa air leak yung mga plastic elbow. where as, yung tunog ng filter would be... parang sumisingaw when you gas up kase possible na hindi nasukat ng tama yung size ng carb sa pagbutas ng plastic adaptor unlike kung steel adaptor yung nakakabit, it would be more compact and 100% intake.
Actually, whether plastic or rubber, there will be a rubber seal that mates the adapter to the carb, so leaks will be minimal.
