toyota timing belts are due for replacement at 60,000 miles or 100,000km under normal driving conditions. manila traffic does not fall as normal as it is always stop and go traffic. it needs to be replaced at earlier intervals. if the oil has leaked into the timing belt area, or the timing belt tension had been disturbed, the timing belt has to be replaced together with the "might as well" parts such as front main seal, camshaft seal, oil pump seal, tensioner, timing belt idler and water pump where applicable. once the timing belt cavity is open, these parts are accessible. these components were designed to be replaced at the same time though it is not spelled out in the owner's manual.
