January 18th, 2010 09:50 AM #1Hi Team,
The car is a chevrolet spark 1.0 EFI.
Pag press ng accelarator for a few seconds parang walang response.
Thanks a lot.

what RPM ka mag shift up?

January 20th, 2010 03:12 PM #4I have an owner jeep with a 3k engine (1.0) which I could shift from first to 2nd gear with rpm as low as 1000 and it doesn't hesitate. With the spark , I shift at 1,500 rpm with aircon off but a whole lot of hesitation.

3k engine ay 1200 cc? If I am not mistaken 4 cyliners ang 3K. 3 cylinders ang spark.
very early shifting up ay masama sa makina. this is called lugging the engine.
Last edited by meledson; January 20th, 2010 at 04:05 PM.

On my brother's Getz (1.1L), I have to shift around or above 2,500 RPM to get it to haul ass. Takes some getting used to, especially if you're used to driving more powerful cars.

It all depends on gearing. 1.5k rpm is way too low for a modern car with long gearing. Especially with modern engines, which are tuned to run lean at part throttle at low rpms to save gasoline, compared to older carburetted engines, which literally hemmorhage gas by comparison (which is why EFI engines are so much more efficient in traffic).
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

January 22nd, 2010 11:15 PM #8pakiramdaman mo din sir. pag sobrang nanginginig, then you shifted waayy too early. pag ayaw umakyat ng rpm kahit medyo nakatapak sa gas pedal, you shifted quite soon (or mabigat yung auto dahil may sakay, or nasa inclined road ka, or both)
might be on the way you shift lang, as what almost all who posted says.
on 1.6 liter engines, 2k rpm is good. on cars with smaller displacement, it may need a little more ohmp/vroom to go, especially if the gearing is long.

January 23rd, 2010 07:33 AM #10sliding clutch disk is a possibility, from based from what the owner said, hmm, unlikely.
kung sliding disk, rpm should rise, but the speed stays the same or even goes down (on inclined roads)
you can test this yourself naman eh: bring the car to, say 15 kph. then shift to 3rd gear. then floor the gas pedal (or push a little deeper) if the rpm goes up without the corresponding speed increase, then, it's likely a slipping clutch disk na.
good luck!
