May 11th, 2008 05:20 PM #1Hi Guys. My car is civic 96 vti. Sobrang common talaga idle issues sa kotse na to. Anyway, I followed the proper procedure in setting the correct idle rpm (take out power to iacv, set the rpm to 450, turn off engine, reconnect iacv power, reset ecu). However, idle stays at 1000 rpm. Im suspecting there is a vacuum leak somewhere kaya mataas ang idle. How do I look for vacuum leaks on my engine?
THanks!

^^^^ I agree, it'll save you from A LOT of aggravation.. Besides, if one starts to leak, the condition of the rubber hoses of the others won't be that far behind.

It could be a dirty throttle that sticks, a stuck open IAC valve allowing more air in for the idle to be high, broken vacuum hose ( check for crack or loose) or vacuum leak in the intake manifold.
