sir.. question, pwede ba sa GAS suv ang turbo timer? kasi napopormahan ako sa starex na DIESEL nung friend ko.. nakaturbo timer.. kaso sabi niya hindi daw pwede to sa mga GAS na kotche? pang diesel lang daw.. totoo ba yun? parang gusto ko kasi magpakabit.. kahit alam kong nonsense since its gas.. pero maporma lang.. hehe salamat sa mga makakasagot.. thanks..

A turbo timer can be installed on a gasoline or diesel engine. But it is only useful if the engine has a turbo.

The purpose of the turbo timer is to cool down the turbo before the engine is shut down.

So installing a turbo timer on a non-turbocharged vehicle is plain stupid.

A useless feature for non- turbo engine. Much better is a turbo charged driver, or a stock car but modified driver.

baka hindi turbo timer ang gusto mo.. baka yung exhaust ng turbo sa may hood... pwede ka mag lagay.. porma lang.

A turbo timer is just an engine off delay. You can place it on whatever vehicle you want.

It isn't even connected to the turbo as the name implies. It simply delays engine shut off.

Not much use for non-turbo engines but a good thing to have on turbo motors irregardless of fuel used.

what exactly makes a turbo timer maporma for you?

is it coz you can switch off the ignition, get out of the car, lock the doors, leave the engine running, knowing it will automatically shut off in a minute?

or is it coz it's a nice accessory to look at?

While you are there.. why not install an intercooler to your engine's intake. Cooler air means more power.

Also an intercooler would look cool peeking through in your car's bumper.

actually the turbo timer is a "preventive" and supposed to help prolong the life of the turbo's bearings/bushings by preventing the hot turbo from "cooking" the lubricating oil left in the turbo after you have shut off the engine.

The turbo timer is supposed to run the engine at idle for a few minutes to keep oil circulating and the turbo to cool down somewhat before it is shut down.

It's a supplement. Just like yung mga kinalolokohan ng mga tao na magnetic bracelet, super-tablets, amazing juices, etc. that claim to do a lot of stuff for their bodies. Wala naman talagang proof of benefit but as long as it gives the consumers peace of mind and does no harm, why not. I don't advice them for my patients but I don't dissuade them also.

For a nominal cost (nasa 1.5k++ na lang ang TT ngayon na bago) and no known drawbacks, its a good security blanket for some of us.
