    Hi gurus,

Just wonderin if it's true that Mobil 1 fully synthetic 5W-50 and Mobil 1 Gold 0W-40 are good for both gasoline and diesel engines? I've been using Mobil 1 gold on my civic for how many years now and am planning to have my paj fieldmaster oiled by Mobil products.

Salamat.

you can use mobil1 5w50 on gas or diesel engines, i use the exact mobil1 5w50 on my pajero gen2 4d56. runs smoother and performs better. ive been using it since 2002. but do take note, that once you use synthetic on your diesel pajero, you run the risk of oil leaking thru the sealsw if you decide to shift back to semi or normal oil for your pajero. hope this helps.

Thanks KCBoy. You're right I feel smoother with my civic with this engine oil too. Gusto ko lang talaga gaimitin ito sa pajero 4m40 hoping for a better performance than the regular mineral oils. Thanks again.

check mo API rating nung oil i think it has both the S rating (SJ or SL?) and C rating both for gasoline and diesel engines.

Check mo ano oil requirement ng Pajero is it CF4, CG or CH whatever. Rule of thumb, the higher the letters and numbers the better. Example CH>CG>CF4>CF. Then check oil specification ng Mobil 1 if it matches or exceeds your cars requirement. Usually, oils that are suitable for both gas and diesel are better for a certain type of fuel. From what I know, Mobil 1 is better suited for gas engines and have a low rating for diesel.

Per Mobil 1 us website rating nito ay SM for gas and CF for diesel. Just check your bottle if it is the same.

Mobil 1 5W50 is 480-520 petot per liter.

Userfriendly: The main reason why i wanted to use this oil on my pajero is because of it's turbo. Would you think it will be better if I use mineral based diesel oils with higher API rating probably greater than CF? What is the best oil (synthetic, semi or mineral) that would protect the trubo? TIA.

Check your manual use the rating and viscosity recommended. Using a higher rating is perfectly fine. A higher rating will give better protecion. I can not give you a definite answer on what brand of oil to use as my last diesel ride was an antique. May glow plug pa.

kung may $$$ ka, go for mobil 1 0w-40 or 5w-50 supersyn...

pag budget naman, go for shell rimula X (i think it costs P180/liter). it is really designed for diesel engines with turbo

Hindi ganun kataas oil requirement ng Pajero. Check your owner's manual.

    But its your $$$.

I just use Rimula X and change every 5,000 kms. para fresh lagi ang oil and filter. Good balance between cost and benefit. Hindi naman pang-karera ang Pajero ko. It's just a commuter car/weekend off-roader.

I used Mobil 1 Delvac for a time. Specific kasi siya for diesel engines. Kaso, mabigat sa bulsa kaya I switched to the regular mineral based Mobil Delvac after having the engine flushed.

I used Rev X on my Isuzu TFR pickup for more than 7 years. Ok din ang Castrol GTX-Diesel. Well, Mobil 1 is best for gasoline engines since the product was developed mainly for high revving engines..

I'd recommend Mobil 1 Delvac full synthetic for diesel engines. The price is an ouch but the oil change interval is longer.

Is it true Mobil 1 is for both gasoline and diesel engines
