May nakita akong mga Toyota Fully Synthetic Oil 5w40 in Gold package ..

Same ba ito sa Caltex na rebranded ng Toyota Philippines ??

If galing ito sa other countries, bakit walang makita ng viscosity index anywhere sa internet, like yung visocisty at 40 degrees and 100 degrees ...

Hi StockEngine. In your opinion, what benefit/s does a 5w offer considering it doesnt snow in the Philippines?

It's the second number which is more important as this is the viscosity at the engine's normal operating temperature.

even if our weather isnt freezing. I prefer 5w30s. its the recommended viscosity for majority of vehicles.

slightly better flow during cranking, you can compare the viscosity at 40c. 5w30 vs 10w40 for example.

more importantly is the 2nd number as stated by Egan.

Happy to have read my car manual, recommends 10w40, cheaper than 5w40, no cranking problems too.

Is CJ-4 interchangeable with CH-4? Is CJ-4 better?

CJ-4 is the newer category of the two. You can use it even for older specifications requiring CH-4 or CI-4.

CK-4 is the newest category for diesel oils.

    Thanks again Egan

Have you any observation as to the benefits of CJ-4 vs CH-4?
