September 2nd, 2010 08:03 PM #1I just wanna know the advantage and disadvantage of modififying the carburetor of Toyota Corolla 95(Big Body)?
From 2E carb to 4k... i really need help badly... I tried to have it repaired but it cost me 5km/liter of gasoline...
The reason why i am considering this to be replaced is the price...
2E will cost me P19k while 4k carb will cost only P5.5K...
I really needed some advice now... thanks and more power

have you looked at the auto surplus stores in Banawe/Evangelista? im sure there must be a cheap 2E carb there with all those dilapidated AE101 cabs being taken out of commission.

September 11th, 2010 09:14 AM #3Problema ko rin sa carburador dati ng sentra lec ko yang lakas sa gas 6-7km/liter ako dati, pero ng dinala ko kay Mang Vicing sa tapat ng iglesia ni cristo ung gawaan nya sa Evangelista, bangkal Makati, naging 9-10km/liter na ko, same pa rin power makina ko, parang mas gumanda p ng konti ng nilinis nya ung carb ko. Inabot nga lang ng 1,500 singil nya sa cleaning. Txt mo sya dito 09228040351 baka magawaan pa nya ng paraan yang corolla mo

September 30th, 2010 08:32 PM #4i really have no idea... kakilala ko kasi kaya nagtiwala ako sa mechanic ko... he suggested that it would be better kasi sira na daw yung butterfly sa loob ng carb may mga siwang na din pina repair ko na din walang nangyari.. saka newly overhauled yung engine nya... lahat ng kalampag pinagawa ko... lahat pinacheck ko na... sumablay lang sa carb.. kasi ang price daw ng 2e carb e 18-29k samantalang yung 4k carb 5.5k lang... the same naman daw yun... kaso lang i wonder why brand new 4k carb ko malakas pa din sa gas... nung sira yung carb ko bale 7-8km/liter ang consumption nung pinalitan ng 4k naging 5-7 km / liter nalang... as in lalo pang lumakas... saka sabi kasi nya hindi pa daw lumalapat mabuti yung mga bearing dahil mausok pa nga kasi kaka overhaul lang... medyo malaki na rin nagastos ko \. kaya sana at least pumalo man lang ng 9-10km / liter masaya na ko...

Pero kung bagong overhaul yan, medjo mahina batak talaga nya, pigil ang hila kaya malakas sa gasolina. Wag mo muna aircon, steady lang takbo, wag popwersahin, lagi shift agad. Darating sa point yan na lalakas ng husto ang batak nyan, dun mo sya sukatin ang gas milage pag malakas na batak nya.

Put a 4k on our AD Resort (Sentra engine) 1.6. Not quite as powerful as before, but good enough. Am going to do some economy testing when we get the vehicle re-registered.
4k carbs are fricking cheap replacement carbs for Sentra engines run around 20-30k for brand new units. Ours was less than 6k, as I recall.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Kalokohan! pre niloloko ka ng mekanik mo kelangan mo ng 2nd-3rd opinion(based on your story) Meron tintatawag na break-in for new or rebuilt engines(at least 300kms)! What's result of compression test(did you)? Or reason for engine overhaul? If its FC issue did your mekanik tried to check-replace-align camber, break, strut components, front & rear? Nasilip na ba transmission(clutch) for any issues related to acceleration of your auto? Dragging caused by these issues results to engine stress & burn more fuel to compensate needed power! How about fuel tank & lines for leak? These are very essential concerns to consider. Actually dapat last resort ang overhaul kasi magastos! Change engine na lang +99% for me . Kahit pinaka maliit na jet pa ipalit mo hindi titipid sa gas auto mo Your just making issue worst. Kung nagawa mo na lahat ng suggestion at same issue....prepare for the worst....gastos uli....I'm no mekanik, I just learn from past experiences at nakiki-chismis. If I were you I'll re-tune the car to running condition then sell it, then buy another 2E(I miss my corolla), do your homework(research * maki chismis), learn from your mistakes. If this is your 1st car you have a long way to go. Lastly be wiser than your mekanik, that's the best tip that I can say.
