They say Mitsuboshi is the OEM maker for toyota timing belts ..

The Toyota brand Timing Belt for my Corolla GLi is P2,900 ..

I wonder how much is the Mitsuboshi brand for my Corolla ...

Any idea from you guys if Mitsuboshi is the same as the Toyota brand timing belt ???

Is it much more cheaper ???

i would not know.
but for something as uber-crucial as timing belt, i would go to the casa and buy mine there, even if it is more expensive.
besides, one normally gets to replace it only once every ten years or so...

Get the original one, even if it's more expensive. Having a timing belt snap on you leads to very expensive repairs.

i am curious.
in my '97 sentra, the valves are designed in such a way, that even when the chain or something in the valve train malfunctions, the valves and pistons don't get to meet.
is this the same for the corollas?

in a colleague's 90s mazda, the belt snapped, and his valves met with his pistons... very expensive meeting!

how many kilometers were on the odometer when your timing belt snapped bro?

98k. But I changed the timing belt at 40k when I first bought that 2nd hand car in 2002. Didn't know about having to use original timing belts then.

A and S family series engine's of Toyota are non interference type. The E series ( 12 valve system ) is interference type.
All timing belt driven Toyota diesels are interference type.

3. Crankshaft Oil seal (Front) - P458.00 (no stock at TMP)
4. Crankshaft Oil seal (Rear) - P1,485.00
5. Camshaft oil seal - P546.00 (1pc stock left at TMP)
6. Tensioner bearing/Idler (for Timing Belt) - P4,935.00


Question: Pwede ba yung Tensioner and Water Pump replacement parts? Planning to buy all except these parts sa casa kasi sobrang mahal, di kaya ng budget. hehe

Kahit mga oil seals sir? And ganun pala yun, dalawa pala ang crankshaft oil seal? front and back pala.
