Things to solve a cold start issue?

Diba easiest is to put key sa "on" may whining sound coming from the general area where the fuel pump is located...that's how it uses to be with older model cars, I'm really sorry Hinde ko na alam but that's what I remember.

Maybe cardict's method is the better one.

Sir, we just moved to our house, wala pa po kaming trusted mechanic na kakilala sa area, so parang at your own risk ang ginawa namin sa mga nakitang naming mga talyer dun...also, 2 mechanics lang po ang pinagdalahan namin. Thats why we are asking how to DIY or test the parts if its still ok and what could be the specific parts na pwedeng maging cause ng cold start problem before we bring it again to the mechanic.

Ok lets see. First things first. The TS did not mention if the cold start happened BEFORE or AFTER the carb overhaul. She did not also mention if the the repair kit of the carb she used to replace the old one was an exact replica. What Im trying to drive at is that if you let the mechanic do the purchasing, chances are, they will just get the one (even if it is not the exact replica) that is available in the nearby auto supply & do the "remedyo method" back in their talyer just to make things done & save time. This will make the reliability of their work questionable. I am asking this as I've grown up with carb -equipped engines and by experience, a little mismatch of the replacement repair kit from the OEM kit (even with a mismatch of 1or 2 holes in the gasket, the setting of the fuel float) will give your engine hardstarting. Good thing if the mechanic who did your carb overhaul kept your old repair kit for future reference....

Cold start already occurs even before the carb was overhauled, mas malala pa dati dahil nag-stall ang car after 3mins of idling. Actually, the carb was overhauled twice. The 1st mechanic who did the overhauling job, nagpabili ng OEM carb repair kit na puro o-rings lang which costs 1,6k. But after that hinde pa rin nawala ang cold start at stalling issue. So after a month, we decided to bring it in kamuning carb experts na, and dun po namin nalaman na mali pala ang carb repair kit na pinabili nung unang nag-overhaul, sa scenario nung car na nag-istall dapat daw ay yung complete carb repair kit ang pinabili na may kasama nang plunger, jets, mga turnilyo at o-rings, etc...and this is much cheaper dahil 1k lang po itong complete set. And after it was overhauled correctly, nawala na po ang stalling issue.

Twice po kami nagpalit ng repair kit...OEM and the replacement one but has the complete set. Wala po kasing OEM na repair kit ang honda na may kasama plunger, jets, etc puro o-rings lang.

That's good additional info you gave. From that info, I suggest you check the fuel pump if it is still up to the task. Check also if the engine timing is "dead-on" target. Adjust valve clearance as necessary. I highly suggest you look for a highly competent mechanic who understands carb - equipped engines...

Actually sir, ganito po ang nangyayari every morning. At first start, mabubuhay po ang engine for 1 sec at tipong magbo-vrooom lang and after that mag-ooff na uli. Then the succeeding clicks while pumping the gas pedal ay hard starting na at aabutin na until 4 tries before the engine would finally starts.

1. Ung choke makakatulong sa cold start related din sha sa a/f mixture.. pero magkaiba po ang choke sa a/f mixture
2. Basta ung mas malapit sa makina pabab ung fuel, ung isa throttle.. iba iba dn ang carb design pero sakin ganun po..

"fuel filler cap" ito po ba yung takip na binubuksan pag nagpapa-gas? I will loosen it up at night then hihigpitan ko po sa umaga before I start the car?
