    the engine thermostat keeps coolant flowing in the engine at a minimum, until the engine reaches optimum working temperature.
    that way, the engine reaches optimum temp faster.
    an engine running at less than optimum temp, consumes more gas, generates more pollutant.
    removing the thermostat, will increase pollution and fuel consumption.

    the thermostat's effect is more palpable in colder countries.

    In addition to what was mentioned before my post, the thermostat is there for a reason, bypassing this would cause premature wear on your engine. It's cheap to replace this, I bought one way back for my Vti in 2006 it cost less than 1,500 php.

    Wala nang thermostat ang aking toyota liftback 2T engine, 1600cc. Saan kaya makakabili nito? Sana meron dito sa sucat, paranaque

    Try nyo sa Cruiser, along sucat road lang po.

    result cold start engines,,tagal bumaba ng idling..

    tagal bumukas ng radiator fan motor

    Try niyo Britetown auto supply or RPMS auto supply. They carry TAMA OEM brand thermostat. Also RPMS is a Toyota Specialist.
