nuggets,
there is a tool called HEI (high energy ignition) tester. in its unavailability, you can use a plastic handled phillips screwdriver #2 inserted into the spark plug end of the high tension wire. while maintaining a gap of 1/2 inch away from the engine block, crank the engine and observe the intensity of the spark. the spark color should be bluish white. if it is more like orange, replace the ignition coil

remember that gasoline is a volatile substance.. it will immediately evaporate given that the engine is hot.. gasoline will not stay long in your spark plug.. a slightly loose piston ring will surely make your spark plugs wet soaking with engine oil that will smell like gasoline.. the leak may be not enough to have noticeable oil loss but still its leaking

November 11th, 2009 10:41 PM #15try a compression test, a low compression in the combustion chamber also leads to unburned fuel that cause the wet sparkplugs. a low compression combustion chamber pressure doesnt mean you have piston ring problems or your burning oil. it can also be the valve that doesnt seat properly on the valve seat. then if the compression is in spesified pressure then you try swaping a new distributor assy just to perform a trial and error if it is realy the ignition system is faulty.

November 18th, 2009 11:59 AM #19okey, balik sa basics
1. pa-check mo compression ng cylinders kung nasa acceptable range
2. pa-check mo ignition timing using timing light strobe, 10 degrees BTD
3. check o palitan fuel pressure regulator
