so importante pala talaga ang magchange oil sa 1k kms. salamat po sa ideas ninyo.
i understand. i also like the ciaz.
well, if you have fears skipping that 1K oil change, you can have the oil change done by a local mechanic. there's no secret to changing oil naman.
after my warranty ran out, i have mine done at the gas station.
just pray that you wouldn't need to collect on that warranty.
good luck.
btw.
you might ask the dealership, if they have authorized shop nearer you, that you can bring your car to.

Seems like this is the common misconception for others na tied up ka sa dealership na pinagkuhanan ng unit for PMS.
Pwedeng pwede naman yan I service sa dealership near you...
BTT.
1 k km pms is also mandatory for me kasi yan din ang chance na ma break in yung unit driving it like you stole it after passing 500 km mark

No sir hindi ma void warranty nyan.
Sample if kiniha mo Suzuki Manila unit mo, pwede mo pa pms sa nearest Suzuki dealership sa iyo.
They will sign and stamp your service records naman to prove that you are adhering to the recommended pms schedule

devil's advocate here.
suzuki: "how can we be sure that whoever did it, did it according to our stringent requirements?"
mitsu is a competitor. in my evilest of evil mind, it wouldn't be beyond evil imagination, for a competitor to intentionally sabotage the competing marquee...
in truth, i do not think mitsu will do evil to your car. just my wild imagination...
but if you are willing to let mitsu do it, might as well have the neighborhood gas station do it.
as i earlier lectured, oil change is de cajon. no secrets needed. i used to do it at home, myself, when i was younger. hassle lang yung old oil, na dinadala pa namin sa gas station.
kung sa mitsubishi na lang kayo bumili...
9 year old lancer design?
yung expander kaya... kelan pa darating dito?
adventure...get 'em while they last...
monstero!

As a proud owner of a newly purchased piece of equipment, you have the right to have your purchase checked if you noticed something out of the ordinary or routine
You do not wait for 1000 km.
The 1000 km oil change is the dealer's or manufacturer's last check to make sure that the Friday afternoon or Monday morning produced car is within their standards.
This time, supposedly, the oil drained and analyzed and checked and to do an overall inspection that none of the fasteners loosened, that all have been installed right and all fluids settled to range levels. In other words, checking the overall quality of parts and assembly procedures specially cars produced with cheap labor. Usually, in the U.S., it is the 3000 mile check. Usually, it ends up as a regular oil and filter change for an untrained or lazy lube tech.
I'm old school and for me the first 1000k PMS is crucial. Before I have similar cars but giving different fc's I attribute this to the break in period.
pag maganda break in it will run smoother and more fuel efficient compared to yung hindi maganda break in.
Anyway 1000pms is cheap and saying brand new car ang mahal pa naman.
Unless the vehicle used factory oil for use only during the break-in period, I guess you'll be fine until the planned PMS schedule. I think some manufacturers still use factory oil that's only good during break-in period thus facilitating the need for a change oil after 1000 km.
1000k PM is given free by dealers because they don't do, change anything. There's still nothing to check anyways.

suppose your manufacturer doesn't recommend engine/tranny oil change at 1000kms. however we know that a lot of metal bits are going to be generated during break-in, some of which won't be captured by the filter, thus would float around wreaking havoc until your next oil change. some trannies have magnets to capture the metal bits, some don't?
so it does sound like a good idea to change the oils at 1000kms. any thoughts?
