May 6th, 2008 10:34 PM #1hi.. am new here. i have corolla gli. i noticed that my RPM went up during engine start at 1.1K (from 800-900RPM) w/o ac. This stabilizes when temp gauge reaches the half mark. This happened after engine wash. What could have went wrong? Tinakpan naman mabuti ang alternator at distributor. Had my car checked by a mechanic sabi ok lang yun. I noticed from previous thread na the usual RPM at idle is 800-900 RPM. TIA.My car btw is corolla 95 GLi.

Normal lang yan. May thermostat yan connected to your idle up switch para maabot agad ng engine mo yun operating temp niya. An engine running in its recommended operating temperature saves gas and has cleaner emission compared to a cold engine
