well, for sure may extrang bayad, extrang labor yan eh...
why are you draining you tank btw? if papadrain mo might as well have it cleaned.
do a search nalang, may thread na about this.
pa-drain ko kasi madumi ata yng fuel na nakarga before....mdyo pigil ang acceleration at d smooth...this happened after ko mgpakarga kaya yun suspect ko...just got the car from washover kaya ngyn ko lang maiddrain
thanks!
nag-inquire ako a two months ago sa isang motorshop, P1,200 daw ang palinis ng fuel tank for a sedan. dun sa mekaniko ko, P800 naman ang singil nya.
yup either yun o madumi tubig...kasi di naman sya ganun before ko kargahan...
pinta tune-up, carb clean, change air filter ko na ganun parin...
nasa ganun range nga 800-1200 yan sa labas...I diy my gas tank cleaning...nothing to it.. but may eat up your wholeday sa first time kasi ang hindi mo pa kabisado ang sequence ng pagkalas.
Ideally eto ang steps:
1) Drain the tank (I usually use my car na halos 2 liters na lang ang tira). Handa na dapat ang pangbukas ng drain plug (some car requires special tool). I use a batya (metal) to receive the fuel.
2) After draining, I transfer the fuel sa tamang container and keep it away (baka magliyab/sumabog).
3) Remove the sensor/float.
4) Detache the hoses (one going to the engine, another going to the bleeder or gas return from the fuel tank opening).
5) Detache the main hose conecting the tank sa entry ng kargahan ng gas.
6) Remove the bolts that support the tank (usually 4 bolts eto)...some old models naka strap lang ang fuel tank.
7) Remove the tank.
8) Inspect the tank with flashlight (work on an open area with lots of ventilation and no fire around - kahit na yosi lang).
9) If you have time and its sunny, I recommend flashing it with soapy water and fully rinsing it afterwards. Then sun dry it. Sa remaining water inside the tank, I use a paper towel to absorb it all...then sun dry uli.
I use an aircompressor to blow air on all the tubes (hose tube connection) to make sure na walang dumi sa loob ng mga pipes.
10) Sa pagsauli i-reverse mo lang ang sequence from 7 to 1. If completo gamit and time permits, you should be finished in half a day.
Pag hindi maaraw, I flush the tank with the gas that I drained....pero delicado ito...only professionals and risk-takers should do this procedure...pede kasing mag-ignite ang fumes ng gas na ipinangri-rinse mo.
HTH.
Php 300 ata ang binayad ko sa pinsan ni afrasay sa Caloocan para i-drain tanke ko and i-repair yung dents ng rear skidplate. Not sure lang of current prices.

if that's the same gas you used when you brought the car to have it painted, your gas may be stale na. bad gas (that's been in the car for a long time) will definitely affect your performance.
