guys need advice po, i had my kia cd5 carb overhauled, 14 yrs na kasi ala cleaning mula nung nabili namin, nalakasan lang ako sa gas pero ala sya problem, after i-overhaul nasisinok (rpm goes down momentarily and almost dies) everytime i step on the gas from idle. ang hirap tuloy i-drive, minsan namamatayan pa ko. ginamit namin yung keyster carb kit, di namin nagamit lahat ng parts kasi iba shape or size nung ibang jet. sabi ng mechanic jet daw problem, i tried other mechanics, solenoid daw? yung iba naman para sigurado daw bili nako ng new carb? i canvassed and a new one costs 9k-single, 11.5k-double. ano po ba tong single and double?

Dear recklus:
Clearly you bought the wrong carb repair kit. If the parts won't fit, then they are NOT for your carburetor. Can you go back to the bastard who sold it to you and get the RIGHT one?
In my experience, generally when a vehicle tends to show slightly increased fuel consumption, the 1st thing we check is the Ignition system, spark plugs and gap, timing and dwell, contact points (if yours is not yet electronic ignition) etc.
Next we check the valve adjustment and then change the oil.
Only then do we check the fuel system. Start by replacing your fuel filter.
To set the carburetor correctly the 1st thing is to ascertain the FLOAT Level. If that is correct replace the gaskets and seals. If the engine is burning correctly don't bother to replace the jets. Just clean the carb out with compressed air.
