According to a close friend of mine if you accidentally feed your gas engine with a diesel, then it’s ok. But you feed your diesel engine with a gas, this will be a big problem. how true

eitherway, i wont gamble...engine na yan pinag uusapan.drain it asap nalang
You need to drain it both gas or diesel parehong palyado yan w/ wrong fuel.
Agree with both viewpoints.
Expect serious results when feeding an engine the wrong fuel, whether gasoline or diesel.
Actually, it's always worse to feed a diesel gas.
When you feed a gas engine diesel fuel, all you have to do is drain the fuel system and clean off or replace the spark plugs (depending on how long you tried to run it with the diesel ), on diesel engines, you may experience clogged or damaged injectors... which is expen$$$ive to rectify.
My cousin's van is a Mazda E2000, gasoline-fed, and newbie drivers fill it up with diesel all the time... funny thing is, the engine is nearing 200,000km and has still never been overhauled... last year, I took that baby to 160 km/h, and it was still accelerating when I had to slow down because someone didn't fill up the coolant tank......no harm done... that's one tough mother...

Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Our FB L300 nagkaganito rin dati. kasi bobong caltex na may mix up yong diesel nila with gas! nag stop yong L300 FB namin as in dead mga 300 meters in running. buti nlang sagot ng caltex ang lahat ng repairs.
I've experienced that before. Delivery pick-up ng company namin Ford Courier (mazda engine) naka inom ng gas. We're running against time for our delivery so drain namin ng boss ko at kargahan ulit ng diesel. I drove the truck myself at hanep sa usok...hehehe...buti hindi ako hinuli ng pulis. hindi kami nagpalit ng sparkplugs basta tuloy lang ulit karga ng diesel hanggang sa naibenta so far ok naman. I don't know with diesel to gas.
Yup, you'd have bigger problems if your diesel engine is fed gasoline, than the other way around.
mas delikado if the diesel engine is fed with gasoline, high compression ito. for me, ako mismo nagbubukas at nagbabalik ng fuel lid. hirap na!
Hmm.. mali pala ang pagkaintindi ko. I thought mas mahirap kung gas-fed engine nalagyan ng diesel coz mas madumi yung diesel. Kung yung diesel-fed engine, if ever, kahit papano malilinis lang nung gas yun diesel. Oh well, mali.
Pero either way, you've really got to drain the tank as a precaution.
A new gas starex was filled with diesel, the engine was blown. It wont stop even they turn off the key already. The fuel station replace the whole vehicle. bec. the owner has big influence. It happen in southern Mindanao.
happened to my Dmax, at one point of time, it was filled with gas rather than diesel. buti konti lang at napansin agad...![]()
hmm, i remember an Amazing Race season where their SUV got filled with diesel instead of gas; inidrain lang nila, filled up with gas, and they were on their way.
depende rin siguro sa particular engine involved? or baka me gas pa sa tank, kaya medyo nadilute ung diesel?
well i asked my uncle from germany, he works from mobil 1 before and currently from FUCHS germany maker of engine oil. i asked him this question. he ans. me the same. feeding daw a gas engine with a diesel gas der will be no problem execpt with a smoking car. but sooner this will normalize. napag aralan na raw yun. and he added that the mobil 1 motor oil is the best. kahit na nag work sya sa FUCHS
This happened to our company vehicle (STRADA) several years back.. and if i'm not mistaken-- also by a dumb caltex attendant.. filled up gas instead of diesel.
they had to drain it -- good thing the driver noticed and did not even attempt to start the engine-- hassle pa coz the manager was even planning on charging us for the full tank of gas mistakenly filled up by their attendant..
the car still runs fine. -- good thing the driver spotted it.
a little off topic but don't you just hate it when the attendants fill up the tank literally to the brim?!? the automatic cutoff system of the gas pump is there for a purpose.. i'm just waiting to hear about an accident because some attendant filled the gas to the brim..
on the OT...shucks masama ba yon? parati kong pinapasagad yung akin eh hehehe...
para sa kin ok lang yun. wag lang masisira yung automatic cut-off kasi overflow yung fuel mo sa tank. nangyari na sa akin yun e.
since gas was the topic, i bought my RAV4 last year,i used unleaded gas 93+octane,can i shift to 95+octane? I need your advice guys, thank you!
