Hello Diesel experts,

I was researching on the solution for trapping the vaporized oil in the pcv to prevent oil contamination of the intake manifold. As you all know, vaporized oil plus egr equals "gunk". My carnival has experienced this and cleaning this material from the intake manifold is a hassle.

Anyway I found out that oil/air separators are available in the US (www.walkerairsep.com and www.diesel-Central.com/News/OilAirSeparator.htm).

The job of the oil/air separator is to trap the oil and send it back to the crank case while the fuel/air rich gasses air sent to the intake manifold for reburn.

Also according to the my research, one doesn't kill the egr because it lowers the combustion chamber by returning a fraction of exhaust gasses to the intake manifold to reduce n02. (I got this Idea from one of the posters.

Tell me your ideas on this matter. A closed PCV is good becasue it prevents harmful gasses in the atmosphere and provides anti crankcase blow up.

tnx
