    Good day mga sir.
Just had a Dry compression check with my Ride Nissan Lec-PS 1994 on a reputable nissan shop in pasig medyo may onting grey /white smoke kasi during idle recently yung auto ko kaya pinacheck ko na for compression test.

So far the reading is 150,150,150,170 i was advice that their be doing the dukot style kasi daw black carbon filled na rin yung spark plugs pero hindi basa, sa kinalaunan baka daw masira head pag mapabayaan.

    • Top Overhaul 6500 (labor)
    • Crankshaft oilseal (480)
    • Cylinder head gasket 2100
    • Valve seal set (1440)
    • Free tune up
    • Castrol oil 875
    • Spark Plugs 600.

Diprensiya na po ba talaga and 1,2 and 3 (150,150,150)?
Should i go for the top overhaul? After daw ma top overhaul ma eliminate na raw yung smoke and tatagal pa ang buhay ng makina. alagaan na lang daw sa tune up and tubig after.
Will this benefit me in the long run? or my iba pa po bang way para mawala smoke? i heard try to replace rocker gasket daw sakit ng Nissan daw kasi yun pag mausuok.

    Pa feedback mga master

    Salamats po sa lahat!

In additon to this pala mga Sir Di pa pala na tune up yung auto ko, i heard na pag dry carbon coated ang plugs ito ay running rich at kailngan lang carburetor cleaned and checked. By doing this(cleaned and checked carburetor, replace rocker gasket) will it eliminate the smoke?

imho, id leave the shop. the tests are not conclusive to merit a top overhaul. dapat may wet test din.

anyway, your problem seems to be coming from the carb. id have that checked instead.

btw, the cost of labor is highway robbery? 3K lang going rate nyan...

Thankyou Sir sa advice. I will try to checked the carb first tune up then carb muna. Never pa nag over heat oto. No sign of blow by sa dip stick no usok at sa engine cap no usok din . Di rin ako nag babawas ng coolant. Ang sign lang talaga is yung gray to white smoke pag idle.

More feed back is appreciated mga bossing thanks po.

the black smoke means you are running rich on fuel.

burning oil gives out a bluish hue.

kung di naman basa ang spark plug mo with oil, i dont see the need for top overhaul. maayos pa valve seals nyan.

about compression tests, mejo low side pero thats still okay. some compression testers are reading low such that the 110psi is really 145psi in other testers

yung white smoke ba, is that from cold starts? Check mo if wala na kapag mainit na engine. if thats the case, steam lang yan

Sir ni rev ko siya kahapon during idle mga tanghali nag bubuga ng medyo kulay alikabok( medyo gray na maitim pero di sobrang itim) na usok. parang sa bus. parang on and off. Ang usage ko kasi nito minsan 2 times a week lang di ko sure if that has something to do na matagal na i stock sa labas ng bahay yung auto if nakaka build up yun ng steam. As per today parang intermitent siya kasi kahapon during idles may onting smoke ngayun all day use nawawala yung smoke. So i must say yung smoke intermittent.

Have a wet test done as well (they just spritz some lubricant/oil into the cylinder before cranking the engine). If there is variance between the dry and wet test compression results then there's a problem. Your compression is still okay although it has already lost some of it's compression. Have your carb checked and tuned first to see if the problem persists and later on decide if you want to overhaul as well if you have the budget and want your engine in full health.

Thanks To canproauto and sir Vinj for the feedback.

Noob question mga boss. If incase ma top overhaul ng tama . will it gives a high compression and returned the engine to it's normal compression level? what are the longterm benefit. baka pumasyal po ako sa M2M sa kamuning para sa carb. Just observe it today nawala yung white smoke :-) .

    * the black smoke, looks like your carb a/f setting is simply running too rich.

What's your FC BTW? With our Sentra 1.4L JX, when the carb is properly tuned and the air filter is clean, its doing around 9km/L to 10km/L in normal city driving. Highway driving and no traffic conditions, it will do around 13-14km/L.
