September 24th, 2005 10:17 PM #1Whenever I start the car laging nanginginig, the tach's needle is erratic, jumping up from 400 rpm to 800 rpm back and forth non-stop until I turn on the air-con. If I don't turn on the air-con, the vibrating won't stop, and the tach's needle just keeps going up and down. Pag naka-on naman yung air-con OK nawawala naman yung nginig.
Kaso naman when I'm idling with the air-con on, the tach's needle is too high, nasa 1,100 rpm on idle. Normal dapat for idle is 800 rpm, right?
The car is a 2002 Lancer. What could be the problem?

September 24th, 2005 10:28 PM #2I'm not familiar with that vehicle, EFI ba yung engine or carb?
Kung carb, check the idle up adjustment and adjust the air/fuel mixture and check timing.

well, you could also check if the idling is too low..(para it will consume less gas but ito yung end result..) nangingig on idling (although not that much naman) tapos mawawala when the aircon engages..

Kung ECU yan, sorry wala me alam.

2002 lancer mx?
if ECU, the idle air screw doesn't really affect the idle that much, because there's a throttle position sensor. it would be better to clean the servo, known weak spot of the lancer.
