Overhaul?

mga sir,

magtatanong lang po regarding sa nissan caravan a/t na madalas mag over heat. It happened mga 2 months ago nung na-rent kami to tagaytay pero galing lang po kami ng Dasma Cavite siguro mga 30-mins to 1hr drive lang po ang layo.... nag 1st over heat sya kasi namatay yung fan nung 2nd radiator sa ilalim (i think yun po yung para sa aircon) kaya parang nagkaleak. Naitakbo pa rin namin pabalik ng dasma ng dahan dahan that time thouygh pag nahinto nag ooverflow yung reserve. After that parang humina po batak nung sasakyan and prang mejo mas malakas ang ingay nya na before sya mag over heat. And kahit mga Dasma to Kawit nag-oover flow pa rin yung reserve po for how many times na. Ano po kaya problema nun?

Need help po. Kc sabi ng isang mekaniko dapat daw kunin sa dukot, sabi nung pangalawang mekaniko wag daw ipadukot kc baka sayang pera sabi nya try muna palitan ng ATF kais po to be honest mga 2 years na since last magpalit ng ATF at amoy sunog na. Sabi nya baka kaya hirap makina kc hirap daw tumulong ang transmission.... pag di daw nakuha baka over haul daw po... ano po ba dapat talaga namin gawin.... ?

Ngayon po, pag naka start at i-open ang radiator cap di naman na-sirit ang tubig pero nagsi-circulate. napa overhaul na rin po namin both radiators.

before you decide of throwing your money away and before being sold to the notion that your engine needs "overhaul", consider the age of the car versus the expected expenses and more expenses if the "overhaul" is not done right. tests must be performed before deciding to have the engine undergo a major repair. how is the compression? how is the engine oil pressure? what was the engine vacuum when the engine is at idle speed? how does the specimen of the lube oil look like? how does the spark plug tips look like? where is the noise coming from, the top or the bottom? some people who need money will try to make you spend even if you don't need to. have a complete engine performance diagnosis done first.

sir thanks for the reply... nakalimutan ko po sabihin na diesel po ang makina and wala namang katok it's just that noticeable po talaga yung naging paghina ng batak... i mean nagka increase lang ng tunog pero noticeable din yung naging increase po sa sound nya before(pero wala pong katok sir).... and parang hirap po ang makina.... good thing we have this forum na tumutulong sa mga di ganun kagaling sa sasakyang tulad ko.... thanks sir very much appreciated, we could have just listen to any of those mechanics....

Looks like your cylinder head gasket needs replacement...top overhaul. My friend's diesel Revo experienced the same symptoms you are experiencing...overheating and mahina hatak. She eventually had the vehicle top overhauled and the problems vanished. Although your vehicle could have other problems, in my opinion its due for a top overhaul.

She eventually had the vehicle top overhauled and the problems vanished. Although your vehicle could have other problems, in my opinion its due for a top overhaul.

what is the mileage of the car? have you operated the engine without air filter before? did you change your fuel recently? the engine might be suffering from preignition caused by carbon build up. does your engine use a timing belt? if the problem was due to carbon build up, you don't need an overhaul. just have the combustion chambers decarbonized

First time kong naoverheat ng napudpod na ang clutch lining ko, pati clutch disk kinain. Mabagal ang takbo ko, 1st gear lang ang kaya tapos unti-unting tumaas ang temp hanggang umabot sa redline. Itinakbo ko pa ng mga 13 kms na sa 1st gear lang, umuusok (white smoke) na pala ang likuran ko na parang may sunog.
