    Hi Guys,

Quite new in the forum and in driving. Recently bought a 2nd hand 09 Innova Gas. Wanted to get feedback re Motech for their Oil Change, tune up and bottom components services. Are the services worth it? Any other good provider in Cainta that wont break the bank?

Will their FS oil be as good as what Shell, Castrol, Royal Purple, et al? From what I read oil flushing is not good, can we just skip that?

    Thanks

I have my service done at Motech (San Fernando). Been happy with their service and pricing (i got a discount card) and they allow me to bring my own oils and parts of choice. If you want to save a little, have them do the labor and then buy the parts you need on your time.

Since you just got your car, check what has to be done but best to do a change of all the consumables to start clean (drain and refill with fresh fluids for the transmission, coolant, differential and brakes, change fuel, air and AC filters, change oil and tune up, clean brakes, replace the serpentine belt, clean the intake plenum and MAF sensor, etc.).

It is not advisable if it is "quick service" i.e. the mechanic drains your oil, takes off the oil filter, goes out for a 15 minute break, then closes your drain plug, installs a new oil filter and tops up on new oil.

Some of the residual flushing chemical is still there inside your engine, due to the short drain interval.

Flushing chemicals maybe used, but let your engine drain overnight.

Be sure to tape a reminder on the steering wheel of the car that it has no engine oil.

In fairness with Motech (I already tried their engine flush), they're using an oil based engine flush vs the kerosene based commercial flushes. It's like you're using a regular engine oil (at a lower cost) as flush. Anyways, if we regularly change our oils every 5k kilometers, then I believe these flushes are not necessary.

I wouldn't advice using a company's "HOUSE BRAND", the logic behind the company's private house brand is profitability. They just import the product/s from any manufacturer from any country of origin usually they choose which manufacturer can offer the cheapest price then they make their own brand name print the labels then slap it on a product. This way unlike good quality branded products which have stringent quality control but higher cost and smaller profit margin due to heavy competition from other well known brands as well. Using a private brand disregarding the quality of the said product has higher profit margin due to a very low cost. No factory can produce a very very low priced product then give you the best quality the market has to offer, they all have their costings and processes that adds to their cost.

If you check the internet MOTECH is not a multinational company, MOTECH is just a local Philippine company of repair centers how can the manufacture engine oil and other products...

Products under a company's private house brand is usually not advisable due to outsourcing from the manufacturer that can offer the cheapest price possible.

Sir, with the fluids that you recommend replacement, will Motech be able to provide those service? My AC is good since I know the 1st owner and just got AC cleaned before handing over my Innova.

Thanks for the tips. Will visit the Cainta branch since its the closest to my crib.

For fluid replacement sir for high mileage cars like Flushing of brake fluid, clutch fluid, power steering fluid, ATF exchanger yung experience ko sa Motech Mindanao ave branch wala sila proper tools/machinery when I inquired nung nagpa change oil ako.

Well yung brake, clutch, atf at power steering fluid eh pwede naman i mano mano kaso much better kung may dedicated machine talaga. Other shops kasi near Motech Mindanao ave brach meron sila gamit.

Try to inquire sir kung pano process nila when changing ng fluids nila.

OT: Nag avail pala ko ng discount card nila with included insurance and towing kaso wala pa yung card.
