I'm kinda confused. According to my Vehicle's Manual for Grand Starex.

    API CH-4/ACEA A3/B4.

    pwede yan..

    API CH-4/ACEA A3/B4
CH-4 (1998 Reduced Emission Diesel Engine Service) = The CH-4 category is intended to address the requirements for high-speed, four stroke diesel engines to meet 1998 exhaust emission standards. CH-4 oils are specifically compounded for use with diesel fuels containing up to 0.5% sulfur. They can also be used in gasoline engines when combined with the appropriate “S” category when the vehicle or engine manufacturer recommends.

ACEA A3/B4 = Stable, stay-in-grade oil intended for use in high performance gasoline and direct injection diesel engines, but also suitable for applications described under A3/B3.

Monark (Cat dealer) offers used oil analysis at affordable rates. They call it their SOS- scheduled oil sampling- available in their lab facility in Libis, QC. Contact Cris Salvador at tel- 637 9521.

    SOS analysis charge:
    1) complete testing: Php605 (sos-comp)
wear metals, total base number for engine samples, viscosity either v40 or v100, flash point, water by distillation.

    2) complete testing: Php770 (sos-wopc)
same as above with particle count

    3) normal testing: Php385 (sos-basc)
wear metals, fuel dilution, water by hotplate

    Volume of sample required:
    complete test- 250ml
    normal test- 100ml

Haven't tried it yet but heard their results are reliable.
Suggest we share test results on this forum, specially on new oil tests, so we have benchmarks for our used oil tests.

    SCHEDULED OIL SAMPLING

Did you know that the oil in your engines and machines oftentimes tell you the condition of your unit?

S-O-S analysis helps you by identifying and measuring various contaminants and sources of oil breakdown, thus helps prevent excessive wear and eventual failure of your machine.

    With S-O-S, you can:
Detect problems early so they can be repaired before they become major failures.
Monitors positives and negatives, so you won't pay for repair of components that are not broken.
Schedule downtime that fits into your workload.
Monitor maintenance schedules and better manage budgets.
Develop complete profile and history of each piece of equipment, keeping your equipment with high resale value.

    For inquiries, please contact:
