here's the differences between cheap oil and mid-range oil. laki ng difference sa Noack volatility

but the repsol is probably "good enough"

btw: TBN is total base number. HTHS is hi temp hi shear

i agree good enough is probably good enough for the majority of regular drivers out there. key is regular oil changes. ill bet for the life of the car mabebenta mo na yun sasakyan walang magiging problema with regards to engine wear and tear because of the oil.

what's better? once a year oil change using P2000 (4 liters) oil. or twice a year with P1000 oil?

As long as it meets the specifications set by the manufacturer, 2x using 1000 petot oil is my bet.. of course use 2x oil filter din

yeah that's what i was thinking also. coz there's plenty of stuff that the filter can't get rid of

ok na sana yang repsol neo but the HTHS is kinda low at 2.9 so it's optimized for fuel efficiency and not protection but that's ok for engines that are designed for lower hths oils i.e. those rated for acea a5/b5 oils

    meron bang fake repsol oils?

i prefer the twice the oil change.
there are two reasons for me, why the oil change:
    1. the additives that make it a great oil, are depleted; and/or
    2. there's gunk and dirt in the oil, that the filter can't sequester enough.

Dapat semi ang inalis. Yan ang wala akong bilib. It's either mineral or fully synthetic.

does it mean that, with the semi- or blended oil,
that oil's characteristics fall somewhere in between mineral and fully synthetic ?
how does that figure in the oil change time schedule?

i haven't seen a user's manual that discriminates between synthetic and mineral

and let's not forget that "synthetic" is often just type-III which is actually mineral oil the real synthetic oil is PAO

so to answer your question, semi synthetic is a mix of less refined mineral oil and more refined mineral oil

i think that's what the casa pms is all about.
for car owners who don't know anything about car maintenance.
    casa should call them up.
    heh heh.

Bought a carton of Motorcraft full synthetic oils for around 4600. Sulit yun for 12 quarts! Good for 2 changes na eto sa XT.
